"Why do you say it like that? Why can't you just believe me?" He asked her with a roll of his eyes. This meant that she wasn't going to stop, he was certain of that much.
But then she started crying and he clenched his jaw and fists together, it was all he could do to stop himself from putting his arms around her and kissing her on the forehead. "Fine."
"We weren't even that close." He said trying to reason with her, though it was a lie. Her parents had even offered to take him in when his parents died.
