"It does help a bit," Alanna assured her, smoothing back a piece of hair. "But like you've got a desire to not be in close spaces and I can't stop looking around to see where the nearest exit it. Doesn't really matter who I'm with, it's just how I am." She also had a terrible habit of keeping certain articles of food in various places around her apartment, but that never came up in casual conversation. Especially not with a psychologist.
Sipping at her drink again, Alanna smiled into it. She did not mind a change of subject at all, getting away from the prey-predator thing was probably a really good idea. "I've been in Scarlet Oak since January, but I was living in Ann Arbor for the past four years to get my degree. Must've been pretty interesting to grow up here, seems to be a lot of people... like us here." There was that vampire bar after all, not many places could boast one of those, especially not smaller ones. "Did you just finish up college? Because if so, that's really cool, finally being out must feel so nice even if it means having to work instead of go to class."
