Helene had seen that kind of smile before. She herself gave it every so often. More than that, she'd seen it on her cousin's face when the woman had just gotten divorced. What ever had happened in her past, Amina looked tired. She felt for the woman. But that didn't color her next comment.
"Then I suppose my next question is how does Monday sound to start?" Helene went over the details, pay period and all that. They talked wages and she smiled at her. "Come in a little early so we can fill out all the usual paper work. I'll be here at five, though you're not expected regularly until five thirty." She stood up and held out her hand to the woman. "Welcome to the family, so to speak. And I don't say that just because most of the people here are my family. We take care of each other."
