"I have no idea what a familiar's supposed to be," Autumn answered. "I had never even heard of them until she showed up in my flowers." Rigby was cute with Suri, calling after her, comforting her. He was sweet and it made Autumn's heart ache.
"I got some carrots, basil, rosemary, thyme and parsley. It's like a law that you have to cook carrots with the roast. And if you want to do something other than mashed potatoes, you can chop up potatoes and cook them with the roast and carrots."
She went to the fridge and got the pot roast out. "Okay, grab that canister over there," she said pointing to the flour container, "and coat both sides of the roast."
While he did that, she got a cast iron dutch oven from under the island. She put it on the stove and let it heat up. "Once you're done with that, put it in the dutch oven and we'll sear it with some melted butter to get it crispy and then we'll slow cook it in the oven."
Autumn snapped her fingers. "Oh yeah! I forgot to tell you. I asked at the Owl's Nest if they could use someone to play but they said no. It's kind of a fancy place. I'm sorry. I really wanted that to work out for you." She was disappointed. She had wanted to help him out as much as he had helped her.
