Just keep swimming, just keep swimming! Who: Fin, Roxy, and some family NPCs at the start When: 11am Where: River in Scarlet Oak
Roxy had pulled off a rather tedious graveyard shift, going nonstop from 10pm Friday night to 6am that morning. When she dragged herself home she opened the door to see her mother running around the house like a maniac. Nothing new. Apparently Katherine had gone out the night before and never came home. Her mom tried countless times to get a hold of her, but no luck. While her mom continued to ramble, Roxy rolled her eyes, pulled out her cellphone and texted Katherine: where r u? mom is flipping the fuck out. And within a minute her kid sister replied, saying she was with some girl named Stephanie.
"Slumber party. They're on the other side of town." Roxy lifted up her cell so her mom could read it.
"WHAT?!" Linda seemed to be in sheer shock. "How do you get her to answer you!?"
"Because I'm not some psychopathic mom who was calling poor Kat since her curfew and every five minutes past that." Roxy knew the drill. It was how her mom rolled. She began walking past her mom in an attempt to to go to her room and get some sleep.
"You need to pick her up."
"Uhh... no. I just got off my shitty graveyard shift. I am not hauling ass across town to pick up the poor thing who probably doesn't want to come home to you lecturing her yet."
Her mom continued to yell as Roxy went up the stairs, causing the pink-haired girl to groan before slamming the door in her face. Audrey was thankfully fast asleep on her down side of the room. Thank god she was a light sleep or else she would've woken up. Roxy proceeded to crash in her bed, but only managed to get four hours of sleep before she was shaken violently to wake up.
"Whaaaaaaaaaat?" Roxy groaned, flipping over to peer a her sister looming over her. "Oh my god, seriously? This better be good or I'm totally duct taping you to your side."
"Mom wants you to pick up Kat."
"Seriously?"
"She said she'd give you gas money and maybe a little extra to go take her out and have some sister-to-sister talk."
Well that was one way to sweeten the deal. Roxy eventually agreed and forced herself out of bed. She tossed on some skinny jeans and a black tank top before spending a good chunk of her time doing her hair and make-up. Always had to look picture perfect. Once that was done she was out and on the road. Halfway to her destination she received a series of texts from Katherine. Apparently she was doing some quick shopping with her friend, thus giving Roxy some extra time. After they agreed to meet up later for some girl talk Roxy tried to figure out what to do with her time. After circling about Scarlet Oak for a bit she came across the river that ran through town.
Oooo, I wonder... She followed the river until it was far away from most of the buildings and parked her car on the road. No one seemed to be in the area, which was perfect. Turning her car off, Roxy slipped on out and immediately shifted into her penguin form. It took her a second to readjust to the change, especially when she nearly tripped over her clothing. Once she wiggled out of them the little Gentoo penguin waddled her way to the river, diving on in and swam freely in the water. It was exactly what she needed. Roxy jumped in and out of the water, completely basking in the blissful moment. Besides, no one was watching.... right?
