Or maybe she wouldn't see him at all. Or maybe-- ugh. She let the straw fall back into the cup and sat there with her eyes closed for a moment. She never did much thinking and she could look over the past week and see just how much trouble it had caused for her. Her voice didn't work right, she couldn't shift, she had stitches in her back.
"He doesn't have a phone and he's living out of his car." She didn't necessarily want to open her mouth anymore, but she wanted to be straight with her friends. When she actually said it, she realized how it sounded.
"I'm sorry. I'm-- I just need to slow down with everything." Like Roxy had said. "I'm glad you're both here in Scarlet Oak."
