Grocery Shopping
Who: Autumn and Rigby
Where: Grocery store
When: Around 11am - just before lunch

After meeting her Familiar, which was still so bizarre to Autumn, she felt the need to do some baking. Lots of baking. However, due to the previous bouts of baking yesterday, she needed groceries before today's baking could commence.

So after cleaning up a bit, Autumn changed into an earthy green organic dress with various wooden accessories, such as a bracelet, necklace and earrings. She brushed out her hair and dabbed on some lip gloss and mascara and headed to the grocery store. She had brought along her canvas bags made out of recycled cotton to put her groceries in instead of plastic bags. Any little thing she could do to save her precious Earth, she was going to try to do.

Autumn grabbed a few dozen eggs, a huge thing of flour and sugar, a couple of gallons of milk and a couple of packages of unsalted butter. She supposed she was going to have to buy dog food now, so she went down the dog food aisle. She was uncertain if Suri would like the dry dog food or canned dog food, so she got both. And some treats. And water/food bowls. And a couple of chew toys. And a leash. She was feeling anxious again, so she decided to buy some apples to make her famous Apple Cake. On a whim, she also bought cupcake papers and chocolate chips.

Deciding she had done enough damage for the day, Autumn checked out. With her groceries loaded in the canvas bags she headed to her Rav4 and started struggling with the heavy bags. She paused for a couple of beats to psych herself up before she tried to heave the last remaining bag and the huge bag of dog food.

By this time of day, Rigby figured it was time to get down to business and figure out what he was going to do now that he was in Scarlet Oak. He'd spent the night at Fina's - something he hadn't been expecting in the slightest, but if she wanted him there, he'd stay. They'd talked, and he didn't quite know where they stood, but at the moment he wasn't looking for anyone but her. That was enough for him.

Morning came, she had to go to work at the radio station and Rigby went out, with a promise - and a very firm one - that he would get in touch with her later in the day. Now he found himself on a bench outside a local grocery store, guitar in hand, strumming away. His mood was considerably lighter now since he'd seen Fina and the song he picked now reflected that: the Beatles, "I Want to Hold Your Hand." The classics never went out of style and they wrote the best.

When the song ended, the thoughts of the patrons around him started to filter back into his brain. A lot of grocery reminders, it seemed, though one mind was louder than the others - a woman, out in the parking lot, struggling with her groceries.

Rigby scanned his eyes over the cars until he found the woman in question. He'd never been the sort to let a woman struggle if he could help, so he set the guitar back in its case and walked over in her direction. "Somethin' I can be helping you with?" he called, looking at that bag of dog food. That would be a hassle to carry for most people, unless they spent their lives at the gym.

Autumn looked up, startled to hear a man's voice - a SOUTHERN voice at that. She looked around before she realized he was speaking with her. "Oh that'd be wonderful, if you don't mind," she drawled. "I seem to have found myself with a dog, who funnily enough, requires dog food that comes in 50 pound bags." She didn't even know if the thing liked this kind of dog food. Or if she even ate dog food. She had better like it because she was stuck with a huge bag of the stuff.

She moved aside so he could get to the dog food. "You're from the South," she said. "Not too many of us here, so it's mighty nice to hear a friendly voice."

"Don't you worry 'bout it." Leaning his guitar against the side of her SUV, Rigby grabbed the dog food and hefted it into the vehicle in one fell swoop. From the way she was fretting about it, he figured she'd either 1. found herself with a stray dog needing a home or 2. with a familiar on her doorstep, like Fina had. "Big breed of dog, I take it? Or you just planning to be stocked for the next year or so?"

He grinned at the sound of her voice. Girl sounded like home, and he hadn't been back to Savannah in years. Sixteen years, actually. Hell of a long time. "I'm a Georgia boy myself, been everywhere and back though. What brings you this far north?"

Autumn literally sighed with relief when he hefted the bag of dog food inside her vehicle. "Thank you so much. You have no idea how much I appreciate this."

At his comment about a big breed of dog had her worrying even more. "Actually no. She's like yay tall," Autumn said, holding her hands not even a foot apart. "I've never had a dog. We lived on a farm and never had a dog. I don't know what do to with a danged dog!" Autumn ended her tirade with a stamp of her small foot and a huffy sigh.

She pulled herself together and looked at him guiltily. "Sorry 'bout that. I wasn't expecting a dog, yet one just showed up in my flowers. My flowers!"

She kept muttering in her head but was sure that this poor boy didn't want to hear about her Familiar problems. "Anyway! I am from Georgia too! Tifton, to be exact...you?"

"I came north because my family kind of disowned me after Light of May." She unconsciously placed a hand on her stomach because her being pregnant was another reason she was disowned. "You travel a lot then? " She jerked her chin towards his guitar case. "I heard you playin' - you were great. You playin' anywhere in town?"

"You're welcome - it was no trouble." And it really wasn't, no reason why she should be hauling that around all on her own. It was the kind of guy Rigby was, doing the right thing, very much the Southern gentleman.

He chuckled. "Good news is you won't have to get her more food for a while. You never had a dog when you were a kid?" He didn't, but then again, he'd grown up in a trailer, not on a farm. Farm kids were supposed to have dogs. "I think it's a rule somewhere, that dogs are supposed to ruin a flowerbed at least once in your life. Hopefully the damage wasn't too bad." He'd done a stint as a landscaper once, putting in some gardens. Not bad work, at the end of the day.

"Savannah." Rigby grinned; she really was from home. Georgia wasn't a place he thought of often, but sometimes, in moments like this, he did miss the place.

The Light of May - everyone had a story that connected to that. His own wasn't so great either, though it was hard to describe what caliber of migraine the day had given him. Even if she hadn't laid a hand on her stomach, her thoughts gave away the pregnancy. No way she should be carrying that big bag of dog food - how did she even get it out here? "Sorry," he said, and he meant it. People were just outright nasty to each other sometimes; he'd seen it in his own family. "Yeah, I travel. Just me and my guitar, going where I please." He grinned; both at the thought of performing, the only thing that kept him sane, and at the brief notion that Fina might someday come with him. "Just got here yesterday, so still workin' on getting something lined up. Though, if you know of a place with an open mic night, let me know. Foot in the door's always good."

He offered her a hand. "Name's Rigby."

"No dog when I was a kid. My momma was allergic," Autumn explained. "And if that puppy ruins my flowers anymore, I'm gonna be mad. You don't ruin my flowers." What wasn't said was that her flowers weren't ruined - because of her level, she always had healthy flowers. She had a few bruised and trampled flowers, but really the dog weighed like 3 pounds it seemed, so she didn't cause too much damage. Autumn couldn't wait for the day when she could bring life to dead or damaged plants - but she was still a ways off in her powers.

"Ahh Savannah! I visited there a few times. The old world charm of the city is beautiful." She could feel the sadness and yearning of home that he was feeling. She felt that something bad must have happened for him to pick up and move, never going back.

Ouch, Light of May was a sore subject for him. She could feel his remembered pain and tried not to wince. "Thanks," she said softly. "I'm sorry for you too." She left it at that, not wanting him to feel like he had to explain anything to her since they were strangers.

"Wow the freedom to go and do what you love must be great." She knew he loved it - not only because his face lit up in a grin as he talked about playing, but he radiated joy. He felt safe and comforted when he played, she could tell. He was definitely very intriguing.

"I have a job lead at a place called the Owl's Nest...I don't know if it's a playin' kind of place, but if I get the job, I'll definitely ask for you. Don't suppose you have a cell number or anything?" She was the kind to pay it forward, so to speak. He helped her and she would help him. It was the way of the world for her.

Autumn slipped her tiny hand into his, feeling his calloused fingers. "Autumn," she replied with a smile.

Her thoughts gave away more than she realized. She must be an elemental then, like Fina, or maybe some kind of witch. Maybe an Earth, with the connection to plants and concern for her flowers. "Ah, gotcha," he said. "We never had 'em because we couldn't really care for 'em." No money for a dog meant he couldn't have one as a kid, end of story. "I'm sure your flowers'll be doin' just fine, given some time. Little thing like that can't do too much damage, so long as you don't let her go diggin' around in there."

He nodded, remembering the nicer parts of the city, the ones he'd only glimpsed. "It is," he said. "Maybe someday I'll make my way back there, who knows." If he could find some way to confirm that his old man had finally kicked the bucket, then yeah, Rigby would go back. Until then, not a chance in hell. He'd remember Savannah through pictures; he did have a couple left from his mother.

One eyebrow quirked up as she apologized to him. He was sure she wasn't a telepath - Rigby always thought he would know if he met another one - but it made him wonder exactly what she knew about his Light of May experience. "I wasn't the one who got disowned," he murmured softly. He wanted to ask why, figuring possibly being an elemental might have done it, and the baby on the way probably didn't help. "But thanks. Lots of things came out that day that not one of us were ready for." His own reaction to the whole thing had been pretty mild; everyone else's reactions were what tore him down.

"It is. Ain't a life for everyone, but I do what I can." Case in point, reuniting with Fina. That was a past wrong that he was starting to fix. If he'd left her any longer, who knew if they could still be friends after that? "You don't have to be doin' that, but yeah, I'd appreciate it. Cell's not always on, but I do have one." It was in the glove box of his truck, but he still remembered the number and he needed it now to get in touch with Fina. He rattled off the number, not really caring who had it, considering how infrequently he answered the damn thing.

"Autumn. Pleasure to make your aquiantance." It was a pretty name, one that suited the images of flowers and gardens he got from her mind.

Autumn's eyes went wide, absolutely horrified. "Dogs dig? Oh my poor gardens." She was going to have to spend some extra time meditating and talking to her Earth to apologize. She also wondered if Suri would understand her if she told her not to dig in the gardens.

Her eyes lowered. "I can understand not wanting to go back home. For me at least, it's hard to go back - all the bad memories." While she wasn't telepathic, she could feel his emotions and that said a lot. The way he said 'one of us' made Autumn wonder what he was. "I got disowned partially because I'm an Earth Elemental. I'm also an Empath. My parents couldn't accept it, hence the disowning."

Autumn smiled at him. "No problem. We newcomers gotta stick together y'know?" She dug into her purse for a scrap piece of paper and pen and jotted down his number. "I'll definitely give you a call once I find something out.

Autumn had the urge to keep talking to him. She had been here for a month or so and hadn't met anyone other than her coworkers at school. She chewed on the corner of her lip before deciding to go for it. "I don't normally do this, but would you like to come to my house for lunch? I have more than enough food and would be more than happy to share. Plus, I have sweet tea, which I bet you haven't had real Southern sweet tea in a while," she said with a smile and a chuckle.

He chuckled; even without the telepathy, it was quite obvious Autumn had never owned a dog before. "You never heard of a dog buryin' a bone?" he asked, shaking his head. "I'm sure she'll be fine, just have to train her. And watch her when she heads outside." Seemed simple enough to him.

That was something Rigby could understand. "Funny how memories can do that to you," he said. "Ain't been back to Savannah since I was a kid for the same reason." He still carried the scar from the last time he'd seen Will Walker.

When she revealed what she was, Rigby just nodded, his thoughts confirmed. The empath ability explained why she'd apologized to him earlier, probably feeling his discomfort from mentioning the Light of May. "I know an elemental, she's a fire. Don't make her any different from you and me, but some people just can't handle it." She was wondering what he was too; maybe he'd tell her eventually. In Rigby's experience, telling someone you were a telepath and you knew everything they thought didn't really build friendships. His father, for one, thought there was something wrong with him, that he should have been institutionalized as a child. Will probably just didn't like that little Garrett knew everything he was up to.

"I'd appreciate that." The lunch offer was unexpected, but he didn't mind. Rigby had an afternoon to kill, though he was probably going to meet up with Fina later, and by "probably" he meant there was no way he could not see the woman. "Lunch sounds lovely. You shouldn't be carryin' those bags in anyway, what with the baby and all." He gestured to the dog food in the back of her car. "And if you've got real sweet tea, that's even better." His mouth watered at the thought. Yankees really couldn't brew it right, no matter how hard they tried.

An inheritance, so that made sense. Rigby couldn't imagine himself ever owning something as big as a house. He hadn't even rented an apartment since he was 21 or 22, he couldn't remember the exact year. He'd only lived there less than a month. Setting the dog food in the pantry, he turned to her, stuffing his hands in his pockets.

"It's no trouble," he said, an amused smirk lighting his face as she told him where to sit as she made lunch. "Are you sure you don't need help or nothin'?" After all, she was making them lunch and all he'd done was help bring in her groceries.

Suri's voice was higher pitched than he figured, but then again, Suri was a tiny dog too. "You and me both," he said. He'd have to get used to it, seeing as Fina had a hummingbird with her now. "How are you, little girl?" he asked the dog. People talked to dogs all the time, it wasn't that weird... right? He scratched the dog behind the ears as he gave her back to Autumn, letting her set the little thing on the floor. "See? No sense in worryin' over the food, she likes it just fine."

"Nah, I don't need any help. Thanks though," Autumn said. "Just sit and relax for a bit."

Seeing him holding Suri and talking to her was too precious. As soon as the thought entered her head, she blushed slightly, realizing he could hear her. "Sorry," she mumbled as she took Suri back and leaned over to put her down. She wasn't meaning to make him feel uncomfortable or anything and she hoped it didn't. She didn't care that he could hear her, just she hoped it didn't make him feel weird.

She straightened back up and went to the fridge, pulling out a bowl of corn and onion salsa. She grabbed a bag of tortilla chips from the pantry and emptied them into a larger bowl, setting both bowls on the island in front of Rigby. "Corn salsa," she told him. "An appetizer since lunch might take a few. I'm thinking of fried green tomatoes and fresh grilled veggies. Sound okay to you?"

"You just let me know if that changes." There was still a part of him, a large part, that felt he should be doing something, not sitting and watching her do the work.

Precious? Rigby quirked up one eyebrow; that word was never associated with him, so he found it amusing. Fina had many words for him, but he couldn't remember if she ever used that one. "I don't feel uncomfortable," he supplied for her, answering her unasked questions. "Probably more so for you, I'm used to it. People think some crazy things, I hear 'em all."

Rigby didn't quite know what to make of that, but his stomach rumbled, clearly hungry. He hadn't had breakfast with Fina that long ago, had he? "I don't get appetizers ever, so it's more than fine. Ain't had fried green tomatoes in forever either." His mama made those a few times, he remembered that. He reached out for a chip, piling it high with salsa and popped it into his mouth. "That sounds perfect," he said, after his bite was finished.

"I sure will." He was sweet wanting to help, but cooking was a joy for Autumn. She loved it. While gardening was somewhat of a need, cooking was a passion. She could play and experiment and have fun in the kitchen - not so much in her garden.

"It ain't cray, you know," Autumn said, gathering her flour canister and placing it on the center island beside the cooktop. "You did look precious. I'm oddly enough, not bothered that you know what I'm thinking." And he should know that seh was being very sincere when she said that.

She went back to the fridge and grabbed some eggs, milk. 4 green tomatoes fresh from her garden. She put those on the island as well and got a pan from underneath the island and started it heating up. "I was gonna do fried green tomatoes sometime soon. I hadn't had them in a while either," she said, mixing together the batter for the tomatoes. She then moved on to quickly slicing the tomatoes. "I used to love them as a kid."

"Do you have a preference on veggies? I have summer squash, zucchini, red bell peppers, green bell peppers, eggplant, vidalia onion, potatoes and asparagus." She finished with the tomatoes and went around to the bar and grabbed a chip with some salsa.

Once she had finished her bite and as she was loading up another chip, she said, "Oh yeah! I also have homemade peach ice cream. I made some yesterday and damn it's good if I do say so myself," she laughed.

Rigby could understand the difference between needs and passions. The music was both for him. A need to block the voices he constantly heard; a passion, in that he couldn't imagine not having some way to express himself on stage. His musical gift allowed him to experiment, much as Autumn was doing now.

"Really? Most people are." He could tell she was being sincere, it was just an odd feeling. The only other person in recent memory who reacted favorably to his gift was Fina, though it had taken her a bit to get used to it too.

"My mama used to make 'em. Kind of like a special thing, didn't have much money to get the fresh stuff all the time." Which was, of course, putting it nicely, but Rigby wasn't going to dwell on that. "And whatever works for you, I'm not picky. Lots of those I ain't had in quite some time." You didn't cook if you didn't have a kitchen, after all.

Peaches. Rigby was, first and foremost, a Georgia boy, and peaches were something they knew best. "Be careful, I'm 'bout to start thinkin' you're spoilin' me," he said, shaking his head. "Best not let Fina know 'bout you, I'm thinkin'." Girls got jealous, Rigby knew that. His heart was Fina's and had been for a while, she knew that, he knew that, but he didn't want anything to complicate it any further.

Autumn shrugged, "I can't explain why it doesn't bother me, it just doesn't. When I heard about telepaths, I thought it would be strange to have someone knowin' my thoughts, but its not at all." She grabbed one last chip and salsa then moved back to her veggies, washing and chopping them. She grabbed a baking sheet and spread them out, dousing them with olive oil, garlic and other spices.

She tested the oil in the pan on the stove, but it still wasn't ready. "Let me go fire up the grill, I'll be right back."

On her way out, she spoke to Suri, "Do you need to go out, girl? If you do, please do not dig up my garden. Find you some grass or trees away from my flowers, veggies and herbs." The doggie, who had been following her, snorted and ran out the door.

Autumn made quick work of lighting the grill and left it getting warm. She went back inside to Rigby. "Everyone can do with a bit of spoiling," she told him matter-of-factly. "But I know food, I know the South and meal time is real important. Even if you didn't have much and home life sucked, Southern people come together for meals and they can be some of the better times. So, enjoy the food, think of the good times in your family - no matter how few and far between they may be." She grabbed the veggies and some tongs and headed outside. "Fina has nothing to worry about. I can tell how much you feel for her and would never overstep." She went outside and put the veggies on the grill. She came back in and her oil was ready so she battered the tomatoes and put four slices in the pan, sizzling as fried up.

"I think I'm going to be glad for that." It meant there was a chance of striking up a friendship, one that lasted for more than just the day. Rigby didn't have a lot of friends like that; it was easier to keep people on the outside, so that way they never knew too much about him even while he knew most of the details of their current lives.

Rigby hid his own snort as he ate another chip, watching Suri follow Autumn out. He didn't know if the dog was going to make a beeline for the garden, but it wouldn't surprise him. Familiar or not, it was in the dog's nature. Hopefully Suri would learn after a while what was and wasn't her territory.

"You're right, it is. And I ain't been making time for it like I should, these last few years. Ain't like I got much family to speak of, and good times with 'em are even less." Which was the truth. He travelled too much, and the only time he'd been remotely in some sort of routine was when he was with Fina. Staying with her now would bring some of that back; after all, he'd made breakfast for them that morning. Just scrambled eggs and toast, as it was what was in her fridge at the time, but it worked. When he and his mother travelled together, Allison had tried to make sure he had some of that routine too, especially when he was younger.

He had the good sense to blush a little, always forgetting she was an empath and knew damn well how he felt. "Still like you as a friend, though, don't you be worryin' about that." And he did, enjoying her company as much as he hoped she was enjoying his.

Autumn wanted a friendship with him too. He seemed like a good guy and she needed some good people in her life right now.

"That's somethin' you need to start with Fina. You need to make meal time, whether its breakfast, lunch or dinner and focus soley on her, her day. It'll make a girl feel special...trust me." Autumn flipped her sizzling green tomatoes and ran outside to check on her veggies. When she was back inside, she finished her thought. "It's what my family did. We had dinner at the dinner table every night. No TV, no radio, no distractions." She fiddled with her utensil before saying. "Perhaps it didn't help us so much but it might help you and Fina. You'll find that you'll come to enjoy and look forward to the routine and you won't want to leave again."

She winked at him, "Besides we're friends now. You can't be leavin'."

"As the lady wishes." He finished his last bite of food, wiping at his mouth with his napkin and then setting the plates aside so he could get up and grab his guitar.

Some people didn't know why he always carried the instrument with him, but it was like a child with a security blanket: He didn't know what he'd do without his music. It was the only way he could block out other people's thoughts and besides, this was his passion. It was obvious in the way Rigby took the guitar out of the case, slipping the strap over his head and idly picking at the strings.

"Depends on what you want to hear, I know lots of songs," he said. "I change dependin' on the audience, I like a bit of rock, but the stripped down acoustic stuff is the best." Without realizing it, the tune he started playing was the first notes to Howie Day's "Ghost". "So maybe I should be askin' you what you want to hear."

Autumn could tell his love of music as soon as he lifted the guitar out of its case. She felt a peace about him that hadn't been there before. She could tell that this was his love and his peace. She smiled fondly because it was a bit like how she felt about her garden and cooking.

"I like acoustic stuff," Autumn said. "I actually like this small band called MWK or Midwest Kings. They have this one song called Anodyne that I adore. Do you know it?" She was hoping he did, but wasn't holding out a lot of hope as they were a smaller, more unknown band. "I'm also obsessed with the song Snuff by Slipknot. It's a slower song and so beautiful. Do you know either of them?"

Even without the telepathy, Rigby was sure he'd be a musician. It was really the only thing he could imagine himself doing, even when he took other jobs to pay his way in whatever town he was in. They were a job; this was a life. One he'd thrown himself into, with no intention of going back.

"Actually, I think I've heard of that one. 'Anodyne,' I mean. Saw those guys play once, I think." Either way, the song had stuck with him, ended up on some random mix tape some girl in Florida made for him. Rigby couldn't remember her name now, but she'd been a good kid. It took him a moment, foot tapping against the floor, before he started playing. "Baby, it's our hearts' slow beating, that makes us grow old..."

Autumn was pretty sure she was going to faint or melt or all of the above. Why in the WORLD had she suggested that song? She was stupid. Certifiably crazy. That was the only explanation.

She held her breath through the whole song, thinking things she should probably never be thinking. She was thinking that when he held that guitar and started singing, he transformed into a whole other person. He was confident, his voice strong and raspy. He was definitely sexy. She was so glad Fina wasn't here and if they should ever do dinner together, he was absolutely not allowed to sing and play. She had always been an expressive person and was pretty sure that if Fina looked at her while Rigby was singing, she'd be dead. She knew that Rigby was involved and she would never EVER cross a line, but damn that didn't mean she couldn't look.

Or listen. His voice was mesmerizing. She had just thought the original band put emotion into the song, but with Rigby singing it, it was gut wrenching. Even Suri was paying attention, having moved to sit on the edge of the table to watch him.

When the song ended and his voice trailed off, Autumn could only sit in silence listening to the last remnants of the melody bounce around the room. She couldn't tear her gaze off of him. "Dear Lord," she finally gasped.

When he was playing, there was nothing but Rigby and his music. He could concentrate on the feel of the strings under his fingers, the way his foot tapped and body rocked with the beat. He knew his voice would get low and raspy and he injected emotion into everything he played. It wasn't that he didn't know he was good, he was. It was the skill that ensured he could find a place to play in whatever town he was in, find a way to get by.

This song in particular wasn't hard to relate to - everyone had experienced heartbreak. This one made him think of Fina a little, living without her. Wondering if this second go of things was the right idea or if, by returning, he was just messing things up for her further. Rigby didn't know. But he liked it and he knew he could play it well and he connected to it; that was all that mattered.

At that moment, he had no idea what Autumn was thinking, so as the last notes faded away, he looked up, blinking as her mind started to filter back into hers. "You like?" he asked, watching her eyes for a sign of how he was supposed to react. She was staring at him, though he knew she didn't mean anything bad by it, it just wasn't the normal response that he got.

Autumn cocked her head to the side trying to form words...actual words. "Yes," she managed. She forced herself to look elsewhere so as not to creep him out. Suri had turned to look at her and bumped her nose in Autumn's hand. Her cold nose jolted her back to reality.

She started petting Suri and smiled at Rigby. "I loved it. It was beautiful," she said, her voice soft and sincere. "Thank you for that. You need to record that sometime because that's like, my favorite song ever."

He didn’t ask the question to make her uncomfortable, he was just trying to figure out what she was thinking as her thoughts filtered back into his brain. Rigby relished the first few moments after a song, when the peace seemed to linger, but in moments like this it was hard not to immediately know why someone reacted the way they did.

“Thank you, ma’am,” he said in his best Southern accent, tilting his head to her. “Never have recorded any of my stuff, actually. Not really interested in doin’ the whole big music star thing.” Which was the truth – it could be fun and he loved performing, but he knew better than to put himself in front of a crowded arena. The moment he stopped playing, each passing thought of the people in the crowd might well make his head explode, he wouldn’t be able to get out of there fast enough. “Maybe I will someday, though.”

"You don't have to record with the intent to distribute," Autumn said. "You could just record a few songs and give them to friends or have a few hundred made up to sell at bars for a few extra bucks."

Autumn smiled, "I, for one, would love to have my very own Rigby CD." She winked at him. "I'm sure Fina would too."

She kissed Suri on her little head and got up, taking her plate and Rigby's to the sink. She rinsed them off and put the dishes in the dishwasher. She saw that the water was ready, so she scooped in a generous portion of sugar and then poured the water in a Tupperware pitcher. She left the tea bags to steep wile she finished up with the dishes.

"Play more for me?" she asked. She got the serving dishes and put away the fried green tomatoes into a Tupperware container so he can take them with him. She put the rest of the veggies in another container and put it in her fridge.
