Well look who's drinking to forget Who: Ben and Erin Where: Anywhere But Here When: 10:30PM
This was getting out of hand. Ever since that day at the school Ben couldn't stop going back to thinking about Amelia every fifteen minutes like clockwork, and it killed him that she hadn't budged one bit from then to this point in time. It killed him more - if such a thing was possible - that he cared so much. It wasn't love, and it wasn't anything remotely like it; but Ben refused to admit he might be obsessed, and it certainly wasn't about possession or power.
In any case here he was, at a bar having some scotch as if this was any other case with any other girlfriend or soon-to-be-ex-girlfriend like he had done in the past. She just pushed his buttons for some reason, and he would gladly bet it had something to do with how outrageous and forbidden it seemed.
The bottom line was Ben disliked the way he was feeling right now, and this needed to change. And as long as he stayed sober enough not to drunk-text or drunk-phone Amelia, he was willing to stoop low and drink to achieve this aforementioned change.
