Food nerds, unite!
Who: Isaiah Williamson and Raina Scott Where: Whole Foods in Ann Arbor When: Afternoonish What: Meeting up and geeking out over food :)
It wasn't often Isaiah made the trip up to Whole Foods in Ann Arbor. His work schedule at the Owl's Nest didn't always give him enough time to explore the store like he wanted - for a food nerd, the place was like heaven. There was always so much to look at, to try, and he could never settle on getting just one thing.
Since it was hard to do a lot of shopping and bring everything home on the motorcycle, Isaiah usually just dropped into the grocery store every few days and picked up what he needed. Everything stayed fresher that way, a big bonus for him. This time, however, he'd borrowed his mother's old Mercedes convertible to drive up to Ann Arbor. He didn't like cars - they didn't go fast enough for him, he couldn't feel the wind like he did on the Shadow - but at least this way he could buy what he wanted, get it all home, and still be able to drive sans a roof over his head.
He walked into the produce department and grinned. Should he get a cart or a basket? Probably a cart, just to be on the safe side. Grabbing one, he started to wander through the store, looking over their prepared food choices - Isaiah wouldn't buy any, but they smelled good, so he looked anyway. Eventually he found himself in front of the pastries, looking over the day's offerings.
He didn't have a big sweet tooth, but he knew his mother and his siblings did. Really, who could resist fruit tarts that looked as good as these ones did? Or miniature cheesecakes? Or peanut butter mousse in a solid chocolate cup, with shavings on top? Isaiah was contemplating his options, thinking he'd bring something home for his mom in exchange for borrowing the car, when he realized someone else was looking at the pastries too.
"What do you think?" he asked, glancing at the woman next to him. "Fruit tart or cheesecake?"
