Leaving her alone was definitely something Annabelle did not want, not at all. He could have come for the entire pageant weekend and she never would have thought him a creeper. She wanted him around, more than he knew. "Sure I do, I had a really great evening that would have otherwise been spent watching some cheesy movie on pay-per-view and eating bland hotel food. Instead I got barbecue and you and that pretty much tops just about everything, well, the you part, barbecue's nice, but you're nicer... and I'm doing that tired babbling thing that happens and my filters turn off. Likely the best time to ask me anything cause I'm likely to just blurt it out." It was true, Annabelle was way past tired and yet her mind wasn't quite ready to shut down. It was firing too fast and the very reason sleep wouldn't come right away. By product of that was the usual verbal filters were on delay if not pause.
The blush deepened, not that he could see it, but Annabelle was sixteen shades of pink from his words. It was nice to hear it, that he thought about her and that thinking about her actually helped him. It was a good feeling. "I'm glad it helped, I should probably thank you for something a bit similar. Making the drive back from Grand Rapids with my mom bearable. Two hours trapped in the car with the woman would usually lead to arguing and hurt feelings. Tonight I just let her yammer on and thought about you and the time flew by."
"It was pretty insane, still can't believe it. I thought my mom was going to burst. She's likely going to keep my dad up all night squealing about it." she shook her head, poor dad. "I wish you could have been, I understand why you couldn't, but maybe you can be there for the parade Tuesday?" She wanted to see him before then, but it didn't hurt to ask early, right?
"You could come by tomorrow if ya want... I'll be running over to the parents place to pick up my copy in the afternoon, but I don't really have anything planned for the evening... y'know, if you're bored and have nothing better to do..." She hadn't started a rolling tally yet of how many times she'd asked him out already, she'd probably facepalm if she did. "Oh, I think I can take her. I may seem all sugar and spice, but I have been known to kick ass and take names when the need arises."
