"I promise you won't hate it," Erika said, stepping slightly to the side to make room for Chris. Some people might have dressed up for this, insisted on china, and refused to let Chris help at all, but Erika was far too down-to-earth for such nonsense. She was happy he was here, and, if they were going to sit at home and watch a movie, she was going to be comfortable. "And if you do, we can always turn it off and find something else to watch. Or do," she added with a wink and a smirk, bumping his hip playfully with her own.
"This is perfect," Erika replied with a smirk. "This way, we get a little of everything." And what could possibly be better than that? Of course, there was quite a bit of everything...and while Erika couldn't match Chris's appetite, she didn't quite eat like a bird either.
"I could make tea," she told him in case he wanted to be traditional, "Or I have iced tea, water, milk, soda..."
