Even if you die tonight, there's only one thing on our mind. Lightning strikes twice in New York.
Who: Lia and Remy Where: Sunny's Diner What: Bonding over missing the Big Apple. Or just bonding lol. When: Late evening, after 7ish
After hanging out with Quentin for most of the afternoon, Lia headed out to get some food. There was nothing in her fridge and she didn't quite feel like take out. So it was off to the diner she'd heard about. Yet another one of the things she missed about New York were the diners on nearly every block. They were more frequent than Starbucks in some places. She sat at the bar, smiling at the waiter behind the counter. He seemed nice, cute, but she wasn't interested in anything other than food at that moment. Ordering a cup of coffee, she sat there and glanced at the menu. Seemed like typical diner fare and she remembered when she and Marie would head out to the diner around the corner from the apartment they'd shared. Usually it was when one of them had a bad night, worried or upset about something they really had no control over. It wasn't always easy, but that's what friends were for.
It was still hard, getting over the homesickness she felt. It happened more when she was alone than anything else, but she knew it would eventually pass, that it would get easier. Like everything else, it just took time. And knowing the right people, making this a home. It was her home now and she just needed to get used to it. Cat seemed to make everything just the way she liked it when Lia had finished unpacking all her toys and such. Lia herself still had boxes and random art supplies and notebooks strewn all over the place. The waiter came back and she looked up. "Cheeseburger deluxe, please," she said, handing over the menu. "Cheddar cheese on the flies." She grinned.
