Seeing Desi smooth Bess's hair out caused Crystal to smile; it was nice to see another woman around Reggie's age caring for the girls. Other than her. Or... well, truthfully she didn't doubt the girls lacked for it since the majority of Reggie's friends were females. And he had still only dated two of them. Crystal knew for a fact those were the only ones he'd slept with, too. She'd tried to tell him that it really was okay to explore without a relationship and embrace things, but he wasn't that sort of guy. Which she guessed was good. Right up until something like this happened and he had to start over again. If they could convince him to start over again. "So Bess is sleeping on the couch and Sarah... think she's probably still out with her friends. Or whatever she does when she doesn't have school. You can come with me. I'm going to do the exact same thing I did when I got called back last time."
It was completely juvenile but it worked and got Reggie's attention. That was the whole point. So Crystal waved for Desi to follow and led the way down the hall, pushing the door to Reggie's room open. She wasn't going to say it smelled but there was a definite odor that said someone needed to do laundry and also probably take a shower. "Reggie!" Crystal shouted as she threw herself on the bed. "Look, I brought the cavalry with me this time!" Her eyes widened as she took in her brother's appearance. "You, sir, are in desperate need of a shave. Do you have one of those old-fashioned straight blades because I have always wanted to use one of those." Crystal knew better than to play to her brother's pity while he was still in his room. That could come later once he'd seen sunshine and a shower. If she did it now then she'd never get him out of here. "Desi's seen me cut up ingredients for spelling, she'll tell you: my hands don't shake at all."
