Sometimes Jaye wished he could borrow a bit of Lane's and Skye's carefree attitudes and just enjoy this for a change without worrying about everything else that could go wrong. He wasn't wired like that, and he knew it, but that didn't mean that sometimes, he didn't think about doing it. One of them had to be responsible and somehow it was always him. Of course there were bad ideas in this world, and Jaye knew they couldn't conquer everything on their own. It had never stopped them from trying, anyway, so here they were.
So he hung back a bit as Skye went in first, then Lane. The house didn't look to be in that good condition, and Jaye was concerned about broken floorboards and other unseen hazards. The dust, too, wasn't exactly ideal, and he coughed as he stepped inside. At least it looked like no one living had been here in quite some time, simply because staying in this much filth would've given anyone health trouble after a while.
He pulled a flashlight out of his pocket and flicked it on, because it didn't look like this place had seen power in a long time and Jaye wasn't about to go looking for a light switch. "Looks like the stairs are intact," he said, quietly, letting the beam drift over the stairs and not seeing anything obvious. "Should be careful, though."
