Honestly all Skye had needed to do was mention a haunted house and Lane was on board. The distraction hadn't come a moment too soon and he'd been only too happy to pounce on the opportunity to get out and away from everything that had been going on lately. That spell and its effects had worked more of a number on him -- at least openly so -- than they had his brother and Lane had had enough of seeming like a nervous wreck to last him a lifetime. If he could get out and investigate something truly interesting and potentially very exciting then that was what he wanted to do. Dragging Jaye along had been the icing on the cake, really, and when his twin had finally conceded -- once again with the intention of keeping an eye on his companions -- Lane hadn't been able to keep himself from pumping both fists in the air with a whoop of a cheer. They had everything they needed now and when they'd headed out together there had been an undeniable spring in his step.
"There's no such thing as bad ideas," he said to his twin, turning with a small scoff of laughter and a shake of his head that sent his own unrestricted hair falling around his face before he raked it back. "Not when it comes to us, anyway." Grinning Lane looked at Skye and bumped his loose fist lightly against her arm a few times, barely able to contain himself he was so excited. "Come on, what are we waiting for?"
With that Lane headed up the steps at a jog to the front door. It hadn't been locked for a long time, from the looks of it, and even if it had been between the three of them they would have been able to bypass that easily enough. Magic came in handy in all sorts of ways if you knew what you were doing. "This was your idea," he said then, turning to Skye, jerking his head in a clear come on motion. "You should do the honours."
