Everyone knows I'm in over my head Who: Kiley and Jesse Where: Starbucks When: Late morning
Starbucks on a Saturday morning. Regardless of how she felt about her job, Kiley was eager to get back to something of a normal routine for her. The last few weeks had seen her world turned completely upside down and then some. First everything that happened at the high school, and how worried sick she'd been over Mason's disappearance, then forgetting about the school all together and ending up mated to Mason. It still didn't feel real, the fact that she had a mate now. It was what it was, and Kiley wouldn't change a thing about it, but still. She and Mason were bound together forever now, for better or worse, and that was a bridge she'd thought they wouldn't cross for a long while. Like, not for a few years, and instead they'd jumped the gun.
The good thing about being at work was that, when the store was busy, Kiley didn't linger on any of those thoughts. She threw herself into it, because working the bar during the morning rush was her favorite part of working in a coffee shop. She knew she made awesome drinks, even the complicated ones, and it was the best place for her, all things considered. Now, though, the rush was over and all that was left was to set the store back up before the next batch of people came in.
And that had Kiley out in the front of the store, wiping down tables and making sure everything was stocked up. Right now, she'd rather keep busy than stand around waiting for customers to show up. Some of her other coworkers were content to lean against the counter, but not Kiley. She was pulling bags of coffee out from one of the cabinets and placing them on the shelves when she saw someone walk in out of the corner of her eye. "Morning!" she greeted, giving the fellow redhead a smile. "At least, I think it's still morning."
