He raked his hands through his hair. "I saved her from some gangbangers who were trying to rape and kill her," he explained. "I took off because I killed two of them and was scared what the cops would do. I ran into her and her bodyguard a couple of days later. They brought me blood and then I met her boss. The last one. Who fired her for being nice to me."
Colin looked away. "I got worried about her and went to check on her. She was depressed and-" Yeah, not going there. "She offered to let me stay with her so she didn't have to be alone. And-"
