Colin gave her a pointed look. "No," he shot back quietly. "You like pink. She's just too young to complain." If Amy weren't sleeping and he wasn't a monster, he'd have picked her up and rescued her from all the pink doom. That's what uncles were for after all.
But she was asleep and he was a monster. So that wasn't happening.
"Yeah," he said softly, his gaze going down. Even if he didn't have to look at Amy everyday and be reminded, he could never forget either. None of it. It haunted his daymares with all of the memories of his victims.
As much as he didn't want to think about it, this wasn't his world anymore. He was dangerous and insane and Becky had been hurt enough. He shouldn't have ever let this happen. Fuck.
"I'm sorry," he said again, starting to turn to go. "Don't tell Mom and Dad. I don't- I don't want them to know." He didn't want her to know.
