Colin sighed. He couldn't really blame her, even if she should know that he would never have left the family alone in that situation. Robbie was already family as far as any of them were concerned. Losing him hurt all of them.
"Yeah," he said. "I went looking as soon as I escaped Anders." He really didn't want to tell Becky about that. She didn't need to hear about torture and the things Anders and had made him do. "You weren't too hard to track down, really. But yeah, off and on, since then."
He shook his head. "Only from a distance," he explained. "The closest I got was the maternity ward observation area." He looked down. "I'm sorry, Becky. I really am. I just-"
