Jo was still somewhat confused, the events coming back to her mind blurring with those from recent days with an added layer of sleepiness that definitely did not help matters. It was hard for her to discern reality from dream at the moment, and she shook her head from side to side in a distinctly wolf-like manner as if it would help.
When he explained Jo sat there in silence for a while, eyes on his face but unfocused as she tried to make sense of things. "Yeah, it's coming back to me too." She said at last, shaking her head again. Everything that had happened, evidently everything that made them who they were - just look at Sam! - had been wiped out. Taken away, replaced by some immeasurable bliss that, in hindsight, Jo should have suspected was too good.
"But how did we just...forget?" Of course this was more of a musing than a question, and Jo did not expect Sam to know the answer. After another moment, a hint of a smile, sad and tired though it was, settled over her features. "It was so...effortless while we did though."
