'I. Am. Hungry.'
Gia wasn't sure what was going on, and that wasn't a common experience for her to have. All she knew was that she'd woken up in the morning after a lovely dream with a new idea for something she had to do and there had been a guinea pig on her chest. She remembered finding it the day before and had put it in a shoebox. Which it clearly hadn't stayed in. Ah yes, sharp teeth. It had chewed its way out and climbed on her and woken her up with its incessant squeals. So she'd set it aside and gotten to work. But it kept following her. She'd glance down and it'd be sitting on her foot, squeaking and grunting and squealing like she could understand it. Apparently it didn't like spinach because it hadn't touched any of the leaves she'd given it the night before at Desi's suggestion. Desi... Desi... was she supposed to do something with Desi today? She felt that little tug when she thought of her that usually meant she needed to do something, but before she could recall what that something was there had been a voice in her head. It wasn't her voice, either, it was distinctly male.
"Is that you?" Gia asked, blinking down at the rodent on her foot. "Are you talking to me?"
Another squeal. 'You can hear me! Finally! I've been waiting for days! I was starting to think you'd gone deaf!'
"Ah..." The redhead blinked again, setting her pen aside before she plucked the rodent up and set it on the desk so she could shift and properly look at it. The sound of the door opening went ignored, she tended to forget it was even there. "You can talk."
'I can talk! Your niece-thing is here.'
Gia blinked one more time and looked over to where Desi was standing, not at all surprised by her arrival despite not having heard the door. "Desi, dear. The guinea pig is talking to me."
