somewhere way down deep at the bottom Who: Missy and Nikita Where: Home When: Early afternoon
It was me.
All day Missy had been feeling odd - and not just because of the tingle she was feeling in her wrist where it was trying to heal. Had she been human then she would have needed a cast, but as it was she had just wrapped it up, drank some earth elemental blood and called it good. She would look at something and think of it in a different way. The biggest one so far was actually her fangs: when she had been having her makeup touched up before going on for the morning news, her fangs had tossed her. She had been keeping them unglamoured for the past few days without a second thought, but now... now she wanted to hide them. But everyone knew she had them, so what difference would that make? They all knew she was a vampire. A vampire reporter. And it sounded so wrong to her ears, but she went with it because what other choice did she really have? What reason did she have to feel uncomfortable about it? None, and yet she did. But the biggest problem was that she thought she had discovered exactly why the closeness between Katia and Nikita was bothering her. It was not because anything had happened between them, no, she had never seen anything to prove it and no one had said anything either. Neither of them had done anything wrong because it had been Missy who had. She had been sitting at her desk in a bit of a daze, having her lunch, when her attention had been drawn to her phone. More specifically, to her messages. She had scrolled through and seen a fair few awhile back from someone named 'Jadyn'.
It must have been the name, Jadyn, that had sparked it off because suddenly, Missy was getting flashes of memories centering around someone she knew to be Jadyn. Her Jadyn. Kissing when she was soaked from the rain and had brought over cupcakes because Jadyn had had a bad day... and then again, when Jadyn was the wet one. And that, she knew that had been within the past month, and that it had happened not long after she was turned into a vampire. I knew I was young! So Missy had been feeling uncomfortable the past few days because she was the one who had cheated and she had been trying to redirect it to make herself feel better. My god, what am I going to say to Nikita?? Right then, no matter what she remembered happening, Missy could not imagine doing something to hurt the Russian vampire. But how could she keep that secret? Was it even a secret anymore or... or was she so nervous around Katia because Katia knew? If Katia knew then surely she would tell Nikita. She was her sire, after all. Sire... sire... whose my sire?
Either way, she knew that she had to see Nikita. If she could just see the other woman then she would feel better. The knot in her chest would loosen and she would stop thinking about it, or any of the other memories that were starting to whirl around her head in a confused muddle. "Nikita?" Missy practically ignored anyone else she came across as she made her way to Nikita's office. Of course she would be there, likely doing paperwork to deal with something at those apartments she owned, and the sight of her behind her desk caused a smile to tug at her mouth. "Have I ever said that I love seeing you at work?" Without hesitation, she stepped in and moved to set herself in Nikita's lap, burying her face in her neck and breathing deeply. The scent of the other vampire was reassuring and helped to calm her even as it made her question herself again. Why would I do anything to hurt her? Instead... Missy looked up. "Nikita? Do you remember when I died?" Because try as she might, that was something she could not recall. But she thought... that memory of Jadyn, vampires were a prevalent thought in there. Did it have something to do with turning into what she was? Was it because Jadyn was human? Why did I do it?? Her eyes were drawn to her hand, to the ring she was wearing. A rose. When had roses become part of her wardrobe and why? Nikita had something to do with it, she knew that.
