meant to make me happy Who: Linnea and Dagmar (other Niemi NPCs) Where: Niemi home When: Morning Warning: Happy Niemi's >>
Since when did I have a snake? It was an idle, curious thought that flitted across Linnea's mind as she sat at the table with her tea and bagel, chewing a bite while contemplating the small reptile curled on what was obviously a heat rock on the counter. She had not noticed it while she was making her simple breakfast, but she did now that she was not focusing on the relatively simple task. It was most definitely a living snake because it was most definitely stretching itself out and... oh. That might be a problem. "Kajsa?" Linnea raised her voice slightly as the snake - oh, rattlesnake. Those are poisonous. Who has a poisonous snake in my house?! - began to slither her way, small tongue flicking out to taste the air. "Dagmar? Valterri?" The blonde rose, tea still in hand, and stepped back so even if the snake reached the edge it would not be able to stretch out and touch her. "Satu?!" If any of her children had decided to own something poisonous - and it was not Leif, because Leif did not live at home no matter that she had told him he was welcome no matter how old he was - then it would be her youngest.
She was just about to open her mouth to shout again when a sleepy-eyed Satu stumbled into the kitchen, a tiny turtle riding on her shoulder. We have never been a pet family... Linnea felt like that was true, but even though she felt that was undeniably true she also knew that that little turtle did indeed belong with Satu. Granted that little voice was also mentioning that maybe the snake was hers. Linnea Selanne-Niemi was not the sort of woman to ever own a snake, thank you very kindly, she had been married to one. Did I? "Satu, is that your snake?"
The smaller blonde paused mid-yawn when she saw the rattlesnake on the counter, actually hissing. "Uhhhhh... no, I think I'd remember having a snake. Want me to catch it for you?" Despite the tiniest flash of fear Linnea had seen in her eyes, Satu was already moving forward slowly. Linnea felt a small glow of warmth at that; knowing that her daughter would do anything if she thought it would help her. She placed a restraining hand on her shoulder and shook her head. "Okay, if you say so, but what are we supposed to do with it?"
Linnea pointed to the heat rock. "It belongs to someone. There must be a tank somewhere. Be a dear and go look for me? I'll get your breakfast ready if you do."
Satu beamed and hugged her around the waist quickly. "Be back soon!" she chirped, skipping off to look in each and every room. Linnea would not be surprised if she soon heard unhappy shouts as she woke her siblings up before they were ready. Linnea was just going to stand right here and watch that snake to make sure it did not vanish under the fridge where she would be unable to get it.
