morning snuggles and swimming Who: Ransom and Charlotte Where: Campsite When: Morning NSFW
Ransom slipped quietly back into the tent, slipping off his boxers before climbing back in with Charlotte. He was glad she hadn't woken in the few minutes he was gone, as he wanted to be there beside her when she opened her eyes. He cuddled against her, arm sliding around her waist, and shut his eyes again, letting himself drift off until she was ready to wake. They had nowhere to be and he was in no hurry to leave her, or their bed.
When Charlotte did slowly come awake, she felt safe and warm and completely contented. She could feel Ransom against her, and she couldn't help but smile. She didn't want to do anything to risk waking him up, but she did put her hand over his, lightly locking her fingers between his. She was still marveling at the night before.
The slight movement woke him, though he'd barely been asleep in the first place. The difference in her heartbeat signaled her own waking and he kissed the back of her neck. He'd never spooned against anyone, never understood the appeal, since he couldn't see her face. Except now he did, as he loved the way his body curled against her own. "Morning," he whispered.
Charlotte's smile brightened and she squeezed his hand before raising it to her lips to kiss. "Morning," she whispered back, the conditions seeming to require hushed voices somehow, like this was all a dreamy bubble that could be burst by loud voices. "Sleep well?" She sure had.
"Yeah," he answered, smiling as he kissed her shoulder. "I could stay here all day, though I think we'd have fun at the lake and we get to come back here tonight." If they were going to leave though, he'd have to have been dragged out. It was only the knowledge that they could return that made leaving a possibility. "You?"
Charlotte was torn between being so ridiculously comfortable and content and wanting to turn to face him. She settled for looking over her shoulder at him. "Yeah," she echoed softly, really agreeing with everything he'd said whilst still answering him. It was then that she realized she hadn't had any nightmares last night, and she couldn't help but be pleasantly surprised. Her worst fear coming into this trip had been that she'd have one of her screaming nightmares here and she'd have to explain herself. Amazing how much he was able to change her world.
He wondered what she was thinking, as she was surely thinking, but she was allowed to have her own thoughts, just as he was. Sometimes he felt obligated to ask, but right now he was enjoying just being with her. And touching her. How he loved to touch her. "How're you feeling?" he asked, his hand sliding down lower on her, dragging her own hand with it. He hoped she wasn't sore, though part of that was purely selfish. They weren't going to do it again if she was still in pain.
Charlotte bit her lip and fought back a shiver brought on by his hand. She was toasty warm, but he was still an expert at getting those reactions from her. She shifted a little, experimentally, before settling exactly where she was again. "A little sore, but it's not bad." she answered. "Overall... still pretty amazing."
His hand slipped a bit lower, brushing through the hair between her legs. They should probably get up and get dressed... and yet there were other things still on his mind. Maybe he should have kept his boxers on to help prevent this. "Good," he smiled, nuzzling against her neck.
She closed her eyes and smiled, unable to resist pushing back against him with her bottom. This was so not helpful to getting dressed and going out, and she knew that. But... he started it! Good enough defense right there. "And how are you feeling?" she asked, with a slight grin.
"Horny," he said with a little chuckle. His fingers slid down between her lips to rub gently, and he was positive she could feel him hardening against her. This wasn't the direction they should be going-- It was daylight! And his sister was awake!-- but that didn't seem to be a good enough reason to stop just yet. "I can't seem to stop touching you."
He was trying to kill her. Had to be. All he had to do was touch her and her world narrowed, and she felt warmer all over. "I don't really want you to." she admitted. She pushed against him again, her heart beat picking up at the way he felt against her.
"God, Charlotte," Ransom breathed, teeth scraping her shoulder as he slid a finger inside her. She was still sore, so he knew he had to be careful, but he really wanted to be in her again. It was especially hard to get a hold of himself when she said things like that, and the way she was rubbing against him was quickly driving him mad.
Now she couldn't help but shudder - the sound of his voice alone would have been enough to do that. She groaned faintly and reached behind her to put her hand on his neck. She wondered what time it was, and whether or not a lot of the others were awake. Then again, she wondered if she cared. At least they were in a tent this time. "Ransom... I want you."
How was he supposed to deny her when she asked like that? He was sure he didn't possess such willpower, so he didn't even try not to give in. Slipping his finger out, he slid one leg between hers, opening her up enough that he could push into her from behind. It was different from last night, the position, the feel of her, and while he preferred to be facing her, he didlike the fact that he could more easily touch her, even if he couldn't go near as deep.
Charlotte couldn't help but wait for it to hurt like it had last night, but it didn't - not as bad. Her muscles still protested and there was pressure and tension, but it wasn't as bad. Just sore. And the fact that he was touching her helped. She closed her eyes and groaned again, before reminding herself that she needed to be quiet. Somehow.
More than anything, Ransom wanted Charlotte to feel good. He wasn't so much worried about himself, seeing as how amazing it was to just be inside her. He knew he'd get there eventually, so it was getting her there with him that mattered. He kissed her shoulder, then up to her neck as his hips began to slowly thrust, trying to be gentle. His fingers teased her, occasionally moving up to her breasts before trailing back down between her legs again. He didn't really care if she was quiet, though he guessed it would be less embarrassing later if it wasn't quite so obvious what they'd been up to.
Charlotte felt amazing. Last night she'd been awed by the experience, whereas this time she was able to be completely swept away in it. She reacted to his every move and touch, frequently breathing his name. She could still be overwhelmed by how much she felt for him.
While last night had been amazing, Ransom felt like this was almost better, in a way. He'd been so worried about Charlotte last night, and this time she seemed much more into it, though that could also be his imagination. Either way, he had an easier time letting go of his concerns and just enjoying the feel of being one with her.
She was dying to face him again; to kiss him and wrap her arms around him and make sure there was no space between them, but that would mean having to withdraw from him first, and she wasn't willing to do that. She looked over her shoulder at him again, pulling him closer so she could at least kiss him, even if she didn't have the breath to draw it out.
He kissed her breathlessly, twisting his body the best he could so as to keep himself inside her at the same time. This was obviously a disadvantage to this position! He would have laughed at his lack of knowledge if he weren't so distracted. "I love you," he said when he was forced to break away to breathe. It was becoming more difficult every minute as he drew closer and closer to the edge.
It didn't take long for Charlotte, she didn't even have the breath to respond. She was reduced to panting and whimpering, and she was vaguely aware of the fact that if she tried to speak she would not be able to do it quietly. Finally every nerve lit up, every muscle reacted, and she gripped her sleeping bag as she tightened around him and spiraled over the edge.
Ransom hadn't been counting on how it would feel to have her tighten as she did and that was all it took to push him to completion. His hips jerked as his body spasmed, his moans muffled into her neck and hair. For a few seconds, all he could do was lay there and bask in the glow, and then he loosened his hold on her, caressing her body as he gently withdrew.
Charlotte took some time to remember to breathe, but as soon as she could she turned to face Ransom, wrapping her arm around him and burying her face in his neck. "I love you, too," she murmured against his skin. Better late than never, right?
He smiled and wrapped his arms around her, then leaned in for the kiss he'd wanted since waking. At each step in their relationship, he thought it was the best he'd ever felt, ever experienced, and yet it only seemed to get better each time. Slowly pulling back from the kiss, he nuzzled his nose against hers. "Maybe we should go for an early morning swim."
Charlotte had always kind of wondered if she'd have to worry about epic morning breath and one or both of them being totally grossed out, but the thought didn't cross her mind now. It was a million miles away and she wouldn't have changed a thing. Waking up with him was just perfect, completely perfect. "That sounds like a plan."
The lake seemed like the best place to allow her to wash up and maybe then they both wouldn't reek of sex to any were camping with them. Rolling to a sitting position, Ransom grabbed his swim suit from his bag, as well as a wash cloth and a water bottle. The later two he handed to Charlotte, should she want to wash up a little prior to getting in the water. "I woke up around dawn and had to step out for a second," he told her. "Ran into Jessalyn."
Charlotte found her swim suit and quickly pulled that on, smiling faintly at him as she did. "Oh?" she asked, wondering how that went. And if she knew. "How'd it go?"
"Fine," Ransom said, then bit his lip. "I kind of told her, and she said I should tell you so you why you're getting hugged later. She's excited to have a new sister." He hoped Charlotte wasn't upset that he'd told her, but he'd been excited and knew that Jessalyn would understand it wasn't all about the sex. Though the sex was great, no doubt about it.
Charlotte expected to be embarrassed, but found she'd expected this - whether or not she'd been previously aware of it. She bit her lip through a small smile, shrugged, and rolled her eyes. "Wolves," she said, shaking her head and grabbing a towel. She was smirking though, clearly joking around with him.
"Hey, she's family and pack," Ransom laughed, grabbing a towel of his own and rising to his feet before offering her a hand. "It's not something I'll announce to the family, since... yeah. But Jessalyn's cool." His parents could figure it out on their own; he wasn't going to tell them he'd had sex.
If Charlotte was aware of the possibility of his parents knowing just by smelling them, she might have been a little horrified, but yes, Jessalyn was cool. She grinned and took his hand as she got to her feet. "I know." she assured him. "It's fine."
"I'm a little worried about Jessalyn though," he confided as they exited the tent together and started walking towards the lake. "I think she and Madock might be moving too fast." And that was just based on scent. Jessalyn had been tight lipped, but there was a certain amount that couldn't be hidden from a werewolf without a shower.
Charlotte could talk to Ransom about it all the time, but she still really didn't know what it was like to be a were. And she didn't know if Ransom was a paranoid big brother or not. "Can you talk to her about it?" she asked, thinking that if at all possible, coming out with it was best, to avoid speculation.
"Maybe," he said, wondering how Jessalyn would handle that. Of the two of them, he was the shy one. "It's just that they've only been dating a week and I... the scent clinging to her makes me nervous." He looked around, just to make sure there wasn't anyone too nearby to overhear. "I just don't want to see her get hurt, you know? Madock seems like a nice guy, but not everyone's jumping to a permanent hookup with a werewolf."
Charlotte frowned as she thought it over, trying to decide which stance to take. On one hand, a lot of people would think she and Ransom moved fast. The fact that they'd known each other a long time before getting together, or had cared for each other in that way for a while before admitting to it didn't really mean a lot to others. On the other hand, the highly biased hand... "Madock's only known about her being a were for a few days." she said. "I don't think anyone would rush into a situation like that so quickly." She hoped. Darn it, she didn't want to be worrying about this, and she didn't want Ransom to be worrying about it either. This was killing her buzz.
"You know, Jessalyn is a lot more open and, ah..." What was the word for such a thing. "Aggressive? Than either of us are. They very well may be doing things, but it doesn't mean they're at that step yet."
Ransom nodded, wishing his sister wasn't 'aggressive', though he didn't disagree with Charlotte's choice of words. It was true enough, even embarrassing sometimes. He let the subject drop as they made their way to the water, thinking there was nothing they could do but talk about something they didn't know. Something else occurred to him then, as he set his towel on the shore. "Gabe and Claire got serious pretty quick," he said with a little smile, turning to her as he began to step into the water.
Charlotte let the waters lap at her feet for a moment before going any deeper. It was cold out there, darn it! She thought about what Ransom said and grew thoughtful as she tried to figure that one out. Had they? No more than she would have expected from them, really. Gabe had been crazy for her for a while, and Claire had cared about him enough to be there his first shift. "It doesn't seem like anything weird."
"No, it doesn't," Ransom smiled, shivering as he moved in down to his waist. It was chilly, partially because he'd been so nice and warm before. If he could get past the cold part and start moving, it would be a lot better. "Just an... observation. Not a comparison." Definitely not to Jessalyn and Madock. Claire and Gabe had known each other as long as Gabe had been in town, or so he thought. "Do you think they'll mate?"
Charlotte forced herself to follow him into the cold water, biting her lip and walking on tip-toes until she got used to the cold water. "I dunno. Probably. They would have already if it weren't for the mate for life bit." she said. "But they're both really scared about that part. It'll probably take time. It's kind of hard to imagine Gabe wanting anyone else though, even without that."
Ransom waded over to Charlotte and wrapped his arms around her, possibly to help warm her up. Maybe it would help. If not, he still liked touching her. "I think it'd be hard to deal with that part if it was new," Ransom said. "Just cause it's a mental thing, and I'm not even sure how being bitten works other than magically, but the idea that you can be bitten by something and it effect that part of your brain would be harder than always having it." He wondered if he was making sense. If he wasn't, surely Charlotte would tell him.
She was able to understand his logic, but then again, she usually was. And she'd always felt like Ransom didn't give himself enough credit in this area anyway. "I think it's more hard to deal with because it's Gabe. He's so convinced that a girl will want to leave him and he'll never have enough confidence to commit." Though now that she said it, she realized that might not be the case anymore.
"That... doesn't seem like something Gabe would worry about," Ransom said thoughtfully. The guy always seemed incredibly confident in everything he did, not one to concern himself in worries of what ifs. Charlotte knew him better, though. There could be a lot there that Ransom hadn't considered. "It takes a lot of trust between two people. Sometimes more than love, though I wouldn't go through with it without love," he smiled.
Charlotte couldn't help but smile at him. It still made her awed and giddy every time she realized that he had no doubts in her - or at least, it didn't seem like he ever had. "That part is pretty important." she agreed, heading into the deeper water with him. "I think they'll get there."
"I think so too," Ransom said, trying not to shiver as the water rose higher on him. It would help to swim, but he preferred to talk at the moment. "They look like they're on their way." That was from observing them, both in the car and around the campfire.
Being a good deal shorter than he was, Charlotte eventually just sucked it up and went under to get used to the water. Then she turned to face Ransom, gently splashing him before floating on her back. "I'm so glad we came out here," she said, though she felt like she'd said that a million times already. "Maybe this place will be good for them, too."
Ransom laughed, then went under himself, slicking his hair back as he popped back out of the water. "I am too," he smiled. "I can't imagine this place not being good for people. I guess maybe if you weren't into the outdoors at all, but still..." That was hard for him to imagine, partially due to what he was. He'd always been tied to nature in a way. Fitting that Charlotte should be his mate.
It was hard for Charlotte to imagine, but they were out there. "Well, all the more reason to find someone to snuggle with, I guess." she said, grinning. That worked out excellently. And by the amount of couples on the trip, she didn't think it was something anyone was having a problem with.
He snickered, nodding his head before diving under and coming up on the other side of her. Now that he was getting used to it, the water felt good. "You think Bunny and Blake will be okay?" he asked, kicking his feet up to float beside her. He didn't know either of them well, but it didn't take knowing them to see that last night had been upsetting for both.
Charlotte's smile faded slightly as she thought the question over. She didn't know either of them that well herself, though she knew Bunny a bit better. "It'll probably take time. Moreso for Blake, he seemed pretty crushed."
It was not a situation that Ransom would have ever wanted to find himself in; he could definitely say that. He understood both sides, and they both sucked. "At least he's got good friends around. Maybe that'll help," Ransom said thoughtfully, his mind spinning off from that thought. "I need some guy friends," he said with a little laugh.
Charlotte couldn't help but grin and splash lightly at him. "Worried about your testosterone exposure? Spending too much time with me?" she teased. She did worry about hogging the boy's time too much, but... darn it, she wanted to. She couldn't help it.
"Not with you," Ransom laughed. "I'm certain I'm exerting my manliness in the relationship. Or something like that. But most of my friends are girls and it'd be nice to have guy friends." It would feel better to him, at least, when he wasn't hanging out with her. Course, Jessalyn was his sister, so that was fairly normal. "Gabe's cool, but I'm always a little worried we'll get into a pissing contest if we're left alone too long."
"I think you exert your manliness quite well," Charlotte agreed with a grin. Of course, she was highly biased. She had to laugh when Gabe was brought up, ridiculously amused by the idea. "He has alpha syndrome bad, doesn't he?" It was mostly rhetorical. She was pretty sure anyone who'd been alone with Gabe for two minutes knew that. "Well, I could always leave you alone, let you go off in search of male bonding in the wilderness..." It was hard to suggest with a straight face.
"I think he's lucky that none of the other wolves around him are quite as itching for a fight," Ransom said with a laugh. He'd grown up around extreme alpha males and it just wasn't his cup of tea. Gabe amused him because he'd seemed like an alpha even before being bitten. "Gabe and I do not need to bond. We're close enough just being eighteen year old male werewolves, don't you think?" It made two guys that had next to nothing in common suddenly relate to one another.
"I think you get on fine," Charlotte agreed. "But I could still let you go find another guy to bond with. I could stay out here all by myself..." she said, sighing mock-sadly. She made as if to swim away, feeling rather playful. And she wasn't as sore in the water, which was great.
"I'd rather stay and bond with you," Ransom said, swimming after her with a laugh. Grabbing her foot, he pulled her back towards him, then took hold of her by the waist. "I've got lots of time to get to know other guys. This is our alone time before we've gotta go back. Let me wallow in it."
Charlotte grinned brightly as she draped her arms over his shoulders, and rubbed the back of his neck, running her fingers through his wet hair. "Please do," she agreed, kissing him briefly. Having to go home would be the saddest thing ever.
