I can't sleep tonight Who: Emilia and Nysa Where: Nysa's office When: Just before midnight
Emilia had had a very, very long day. Work had been a nerve wracking affair, thanks to Doran being in to compare sermon notes with her father. Luckily she had been able to dodge him every time he came her way, both before and after the lunch with her sisters. That had been less stressful, but Emilia had still need to say things she did not want to. Arwen deserved to know if Desi did. Still, it had not been easy. The lawyer after had not been either - but necessary. Emilia wanted it all done as soon as possible and that meant doing whatever the lawyer said she had to do. By the time it was over, Emilia just wanted to curl up on the couch and watch a movie with Nysa while talking about absolutely nothing. However, Nysa was not home when she got there. Nysa was still not home three hours later. Emilia was concerned when she tried calling and got no answer... four times. It was nearly eleven and still nothing. Maybe she fell asleep at work. That would not be a first. Emilia actually hoped that was what had happened, because the only other option was that she had gone to make up with Lisa.
A knot of tension came undone when she pulled up into the back parking lot and saw that Nysa's car was indeed there. Had she been gone then Emilia had no idea what she would have done. Nysa had never left her alone when she was staying at her house. Turning the car off, Emilia slipped out and walked up to the back door she hoped Nysa had not locked. Once again, luck was with her and she was able to slip into the almost totally abandoned building. Her shoes clicked loudly as she made her way to Nysa's office. Instead of knocking she poked her head inside, a fond smile found its way onto her face when she saw the blonde slumped on the desk, surrounded by books.
Emilia slipped her shoes off and padded silently around Nysa's desk, laying one hand lightly on her shoulder before leaning down, head upside down in front of Nysa's. "Wake up, giraffe, that really can't be comfortable."
