Mason was proud enough of Kiley for the both of them, for everyone really, every little thing she overcame and accomplished was further proof that he had made the right choice in walking into Starbucks that day and kissing her the way he had, starting them down this path that -- he hoped -- could only lead to happiness and contentment for both of them. His family be damned, they could worry about their own lives and relationships and keep their noses out of his business.
It had occurred to Mason more than once recently that Kiley could move in with him and Corwin could keep the house they had grown up in, their parents' house, the one the redhead with him now was so fond of and with good reason. It would be in good hands with Corwin, he was responsible and mature and he would look after the place. The possibility of inadvertently pressuring or perhaps even upsetting Kiley was what held him back but maybe one day he would mention it to her, if he could just figure out a way to do that without making her feel as if she had to do what he suggested. The last thing he wanted was to tell her what to do.
Smiling as her fingers laced through his Mason just looked at her for a few moments, taking in the sight of her and enjoying it before he reminded himself it wasn't exactly warm out and Kiley's feet would probably be killing her. Finishing off his coffee and dumping the cup in the nearest trash can he said, "Those super crazy customers know who they're dealing with, that's why they go somewhere else to get their coffee now." Mason actually winked when he said that before turning to open the door to the diner for her.
