Of course August would be late, and intentionally so as well. Trent had settled himself down at the kitchen's breakfast bar to wait, his mother pouring him a glass of juice and helping to pass the time by engaging in idle conversation with him. Thank God for Camilla Summers' understanding and patience, that was all her oldest son could think as he sat and worked slowly at the juice while they waited for his twin brother to arrive. When they finally heard the front door open and close followed shortly after by August's voice they had been in the middle of talking about Trent's rotations at work and how things were quieting down a little now that the incident at the high school was over and done with.
Trent made sure not to look in any way restless or put out by his brother's delay and instead calmly lifted the glass of juice as August posed his question. With a small shrug of his shoulders he said, "Gave us time to talk," with a glance towards their mother for emphasis on his meaning. It was tempting to make some sort of teasing remark on August's ability -- or lack thereof -- to tell time but it wasn't worth it ultimately and their mother wouldn't approve of such juvenile behaviour. Better to move on to the other topic. "Time off doesn't really exist for us," he pointed out to his brother. "Maybe I should have gone into photography instead, I'd have a lot more time on my hands." Trent gave his brother a neutral smile as he set the empty glass down on the counter.
