Quinn was bound and determined that she absolutely was not going to go visit Chase today. Every chance that she found a little bit of free time, she was thinking about seeing him and the thought was soon followed by actually doing so. Not today. No, she was going to discipline herself to keep away and find something to distract her. Because to be perfectly clear, Quinn was running out of excuses as to why she was visiting Chase so much. Certainly friends were more than capable of visiting and having social outings, but she did not spend nearly as much time with Nysa or anyone else she might consider a friend (okay, so there weren't that many to even compare to, but still). She could only imagine what Nysa would say to her on the matter, a thought that she shoved from her mind quickly.
No, she was not Chase's doctor and he was not a direct patient of hers, but she still consulted on his case. Friendship alone could have been misconstrued as inappropriate or a conflict of interest, but any implication of affection or romantic feelings -- No. Quinn pushed that nagging little voice as far away as she possibly could and tried to focus on work, or rather how little there had been for her in the past week or so. Naturally, she still had her fair share of cases, but there was no influx after the mess at the high school. Any harm that had befallen those trapped inside seemed to be purely psychological rather than physical.
Without work to serve as a distraction, Quinn decided that honing her abilities was the next best thing. Though, truthfully, she had become quite adept at calling fire to her fingertips and manipulating flames. The only thing she had yet to do was transform from her human self to the form of a large scarlet and gold plumed bird. Of course, there was never an appropriate time or place for that; it might be considered a bit conspicuous for a huge, fiery bird to fly around town. So it was with that in mind that Quinn headed to the park again. These days, she found that she did not want to spend much time at home, or even in her office, if it meant being alone. At least at the park, there was always a chance to run into someone.
She was sitting quietly on a park bench, a stack of papers next to her untouched, while she idly played with the watch around her wrist. She brought her work with her, but today just seemed lovely enough that she didn't want to be buried underneath it all, especially not when there was nothing overly pressing inside of the folder. A small sparrow chirped to her left, hopping around the grass near her feet and searching for insects or bread crumbs. Quinn smiled and gave a soft whistle back, though she doubted the bird would acknowledge her. It's head tilted back and forth, trying to figure out why she was making sounds at it in the first place before it gave another little jump and took off in the air.
"Well, I didn't mean to chase you away," she muttered with a sigh. So much for not being lonely.
