Emilia twitched just a little at what Desi said and shrugged her shoulders. "It's not like I try." Yes, she had to say it, just to make it more obvious for all of them. That was her theme of the day it seemed. Easier to think about that than the way Desi looked down at the table and definitely better than that touch to Arwen's thoughts. It was not a happy touch and Emilia was very, very glad that her oddities did not allow her to feel feelings in the same way that she heard thoughts. "Still just thinking," she replied to Desi. "Nysa's not thinking about it." The blonde had not said it, but Emilia felt like she had told her no. Or was she just really, really hoping? Whatever it was, it was easier to think about than how closely what Arwen said reflected what Desi had.
"No," was Emilia's reply, the table still trembling despite Desi taking her hand. The police? Was she serious? It had been too many days since then, what good would going to the police now do her? She had not gone to the hospital, she had no physical marks left thanks to Desi's help... All she had was her word against Doran's. What good was her word? That was one of the things Doran liked to point out to her - who would take her word over his when she was the one on multiple different medications? When she was the one who had been seeing psychiatrists since she was a teenager, and if they really wanted to go into it then she had all that counseling at the church on top of it. Exorcisms and medications and days of missed work because her brain was not working right and she did not trust herself to drive... it was suddenly getting very hard to breathe. Panic was whelming up and she only just got herself to look up at Arwen and Desi. "I can't. ...we work together... what would dad say, he would know. There isn't any proof anymore!! They wouldn't believe me over him in a million years." A mocking smile came on her face. "I'm the crazy one, remember?" She wanted to reply about the kids, she did, but her mind was whirling around the idea of how hilarious she thought it would look if she tried to press any charges against Doran. Her father would surely be the first to stand up and say that this upstanding citizen would never do that, and of course he would know, he worked with him and Emilia had always been prone to hysterics.
