just wait a little bit longer
Who: Missy, Nikita, Silvia (NPC) and Kristen (NPC)
Where: Nikita's home
When: Early evening
There was really only one reason that Missy was not exactly looking forward to going home tonight. Which was a dramatic change from not that long ago when she had often felt little tendrils of dread creeping up at the thought of being in a house with Nikita; unsure of where either of them stood or what she was supposed to do. Those were mostly gone now - the only ones that lingered spoke in quiet voices that sounded very similar to Marianne - but tonight was slightly different. During the afternoon segment she had been offered the report stating that no progress had been made when it came to determining what had happened to Jadyn. After missing those days because of her little "accident" and her strange behavior immediately following it, Missy had not wanted to risk upsetting her boss by refusing anything, so she had taken it. She had been fully aware that if Nikita was watching the news she might not quite appreciate her reporting on her... ex? Missy had no idea how to qualify Jadyn anymore and it bothered her more than she was ever going to admit to anyone. But she had done the report and she just had this feeling that Nikita had seen it and was going to make some sort of remark that would just lead to arguing. Is arguing better than not arguing? It was still confusing, things between her and Nikita, and it was more natural for her to find ways to press at the Russian's buttons than anything else.
Still; she did not particularly want to argue with her. They had just done that a few days ago and yes it had ended well enough... Missy felt a smile curl her lips as she walked up to the front door. What had she been worried about again?
"Hello?" she called out when she walked in, doing a quick check in the mirror to make sure her outfit was still relatively together. It always gave her a little jolt when she realized that her silver cross necklace was missing, but... it really was unreasonable to keep wearing it. It was uncomfortable to put on and take off and there were three - four if you counted Katia, which Missy had trouble doing - people in the house who had a weakness when it came to the metal. So she had folded it up in a scarf and tucked it away, likely to be given to Kristen for her sixteenth birthday. Her thoughts were pulled away from the necklace when she heard Kristen call back, and she followed the sounds - and scents, though it still made her uncomfortable to admit she could do that - to find Kristen, Silvia and Nikita all settled in the same room with the television going. Kristen was stretched on her stomach with her sketchpad and an assortment of colored pencils in front of and around her - it looked a little like a color landmine - while Silvia was curled up on the same couch as Nikita. Missy tried not to, but she smiled at the sight of Nikita having a child right there with her. It was oddly fitting, she had always known how much the Russian adored children and it was good that she had one of her own. She was just stood there, appreciating that and that she could stand there, when Kristen spoke up.
"Nikita rolls her eyes at you when you're on the news," the small blonde said, not even looking up from her drawing. "And she got this look on her face when you were talking about Jadyn."
Great. Wait, what? Missy glanced at Nikita again, a confused look on her face. "What's she mean that you roll your eyes at me? I don't remember pissing you off before I left this morning."
