at the end of the day some you win, some you don't
Who: Emilia and Nysa
Where: Nysa's home
When: Evening
Emilia really, truly could not believe that she had done it. Well, technically it was not done yet, but she had started the proceedings and that was far more than she could have said of any of the other dozen and a half times that she had considered leaving her husband. But this time was different. This time she could not deny what he had done and more than that... her fingers tightened in the pockets of her jacket as she started up to the door. She had deliberately been waiting to come back to Nysa's until she was certain the blonde would be home. There were several reasons for that and one of them included a fear that Lauren would come around again. Emilia had no idea how she would deal with that. There was always the smug approach in which she leaned on the door and said Nysa was not there, could she take a message? And then there was finding her standing there with flowers and an apology and... Emilia shuddered. If that happened then she would have no idea what to do. Cry, maybe, and hope the windows would not blow.
But it was okay because Nysa was there.
Except... Emilia closed her fingers around the folder of papers. Nysa would be happy for her, right? Am I going to tell her all of the reasons...? Technically Nysa still had Lauren. Her hands were starting to shake when she reached out and opened the door without pausing to knock. She had never knocked on Nysa's door. "Nysa?" She called as she walked in, following the faintest trail of thoughts until she found the blonde. A smile immediately tugged at her mouth and before she realized it she had moved to hug her. "Hi Nysa," her voice was a little quieter than normal, her hands trembling and nearly crushing the papers. "I've got something to show you if... if you're not busy?"</i>
