Are you here to stay? Who: Keelin, Reggie and various NPC's Where: Camelot Place When: Morning
Reggie had not fallen asleep on the couch watching movies with Sarah and Bess. No, no matter what his teenage daughter said as she poured her cereal, he had fallen asleep there because he knew that way he would hear the moment she got up out of bed. From his room that would have been impossible. His falling asleep partway through "Shrek" had been nothing more than a strategic move.
'No you fell asleep, just admit it.' Tiger was grooming himself, looking far too smug.
"You don't have to tell her that," Reggie muttered, stretching before he reached down to scratch behind his familiar's ears. Besides, he really had meant to sleep on the couch so it worked out for everyone. Now Sarah would just think that he had been overly tired and not that he was keeping an extra close eye on her. Only he was. He was going to be watching her like a hawk for the neck-
"Hey dad," Sarah started, flinging herself down on the chair. She had gotten dressed. Reggie's eyes narrowed slightly in suspicion at her reason for being in jeans instead of pajamas. On the weekend if she was not going out to meet her friends, Sarah stayed in her pajamas as long as she could. Preferably all day. "Mandy wants to go to the mall. I was going to-"
"No."
She stopped, surprise at being cut off clear on her face. "What?"
"I said 'no' and I'll say it again. No."
"No what?"
"No you're not going to the mall. No to you going anywhere for awhile, actually." Reggie nodded and pushed himself off the couch to go start a pot of coffee. "After what happened at the school, I'd like it better if you stayed here."
"I'm grounded because some whack jobs made homecoming into an astral projection hell universe thing?" Sarah's voice was gaining in volume.
Reggie gave a shrug of his shoulders. "Not grounded, you can still do whatever you want in the apartment. You're just not leaving it."
"For how long??"
"Until I feel better about letting you out on your own." He was thinking eighteen, maybe twenty would be good. Reggie was about to tack that on when there was a knock on the door. Sipping at his coffee, he went to answer it.
"We are so not done with this!"
Reggie unlocked the door. "I didn't think we were." A wide smile split his face when he saw Keelin on the other side and he moved to hug her tightly, though he was careful not to squish the small pug in her arms, dropping a kiss on her forehead when he pulled back. "Come on in, I was just thinking about breakfast." This was even better; Sarah and Keelin in his apartment.
"Keelin!" Sarah peered around Reggie, a full sulk on her face. "Keelin, tell dad that it's insane to try and keep me cooped up in here. I have a life."
