Here's a toast to all those who hear me all too well
Who: Dominic and Camilla
Where: Their penthouse --> Out on the town
When: Evening
The kids were out of the high school. Big fucking deal. Dominic honestly could have cared less, but it made getting around anywhere near the school a giant pain in the ass. As it was it took the Agostino twins forever to get down to the location of Camilla's new store, which wasn't helping the wolf's mood any. He was happy to help Camilla out with whatever she needed to get the place ready to open - mostly doing all the heavy lifting, but it gave him something to do. Seeing as they'd all but decided they were staying here in Scarlet Oak for the time being, it was probably time Dominic thought about getting an actual job, but that was a thought for another day. It wasn't like his dad wasn't still funding his account and there was always gambling, and when he was on a streak, he raked in the winnings.
Besides, it was unlikely that any restaurant in the area would want him to work for them. Dominic was a stubborn pain in the ass, he needed things done his way, and he knew his brother and his dad were the only ones willing to put up with that on a daily basis. The future would need to take care of itself in that regard. He had Camilla here, and Keira too. Regardless of the fact that the two of them didn't, couldn't, get along, the two halves of his life were close by. Dominic would take what he could get for now.
There was no denying the fact that their birthday didn't quite go as either of the Agostino twins had planned, though. Dominic accepted part of the responsibility for that, and he wanted to spend some one-on-one time with Camilla. She was part of him, and always would be, and he didn't want her to think he'd forgotten, because he hadn't. She'd left her life behind in New York to support him and he'd always be grateful for that, even when he didn't know how to properly express it. So, grabbing his jacket and making sure both his wallet and his favorite deck of cards were tucked into the pockets, he found Camilla, leaning in the doorway of her bedroom. "Get ready," he said, "we're going out. You and me." The tone of his voice said he wasn't changing his mind about it, either.
