She had made him laugh. Mission accomplished. Maxine tried not to let their reactions to her age bother her, and these days succeeded almost all the time, but sometimes she just didn't quite get there. With no choice but to keep pushing for the normalization of the situation, making someone laugh about it seemed like a fine step in the right direction.
Maxine put the car in park while Teddy spoke, switching off the engine as she turned fully to him. "The not sleeping thing - you must stop doing that.
