Though he had started to nod absently, Crowley stopped and wrinkled his nose as his uncle's self-awareness seemed to kick in. Even knowing this was a genuinely funny thing, Crowley couldn't quite bring himself to laugh, but the humor was still there. "Well you aren't wrong." He offered, shrugging.
Uh oh. Generally when someone announced real talk before beginning said real talk, that meant it was a bit more real than your average. And Crowley was 100% not sure he was ready for that kind of thing. He appreciated the honesty, however, and nodded at what Sunny said about dad. Then Sunny went on saying things Crowley knew and agreed with, though the teenage boy simply stood there listening because, as he had found recently, he couldn't quite emote properly these days. And he appreciated the sentiment, the not wanting to leave him alone. It was a little distressing that he couldn't quite come out with that appreciation.
"Yeah. So did we." He told Sunny instead, looking down at his feet. It was about the closest to 'no one blames you' he could get right now, and it admitted some of his own guilt as well. Sunny's apology did go a long way, especially because he could see the regret all over is face. Before tears could well up in his eyes Crowley bit his bottom lip and looked back down again, listening to the rest of what Sunny had to say without looking at him. After a moment Crowley drew a breath and looked up.
"Okay. Thanks. I honestly don't know exactly what I need you for just that the idea of being alone all of a sudden is really scary, okay, and it's hard for me to admit that. It's almost as hard as it is for me to say what I feel properly right now, and I'm sorry about that. I don't not want you here. I'm not being rude on purpose." He shot, a hundred words a second. Hopefully that was clear enough because it was the best he could do right now.
