"Belinda," Lida rolled the name off of her tongue, relishing the way it felt. "What a lovely name. It suits a face as lovely as yours." Though her fingers were still caked with dirt, she reached up and gently brushed a curl away from Belinda's face, tucking it behind her ear. She kept her eyes soft and her smile sweet, her fangs hidden safely behind her full lips. No need to startle the poor girl right away. A game was forming in her mind, not entirely unlike the game she'd had with sweet little Troy. Except this time, she wasn't going to be so impulsive (or destructive). Perhaps it was something to do with the admiration in Belinda's eyes, but Lida was sure that the elemental would hang onto her every word. She wanted to know what Belinda was capable of, how quickly she learned, and how much Earth needed her.
Though Belinda was pointing away, Lida's eyes remained fixed upon the brunette. She was sure if she ever had need to find Belinda's home, she was more than capable of tracking her down. Fortunately, she was also certain that she would not ever have need of that; if she played her cards just right, Belinda would be coming to see her more than occasionally. Her question caused Lida to laugh, a husky and lilting sound that deepened her smile. This was almost too easy. Just from a glance, Belinda was enamored and Lida knew that it would not take very much to have the elemental wrapped around her little finger.
"Have you ever met a Guardian?" Lida asked, moving so that she stood next to Belinda, her arm circling lightly around her shoulders. She waited patiently for the answer she knew was coming before continuing. "Sometimes, elements choose a handful of powerful children to protect them. It involves great sacrifice, of course, but the ends more than make up for the means." She locked her eyes with Belinda and smiled, guiding her towards the little area where she had been working when Belinda approached. "I am a guardian of Earth, her right arm, if you will."
