Remaining quiet as the brothers spoke didn't come that hard for Brodie; he was, after all, quiet by nature and even more so when he felt out of his element, like now. He appreciated Gavin trying to joke, and Langston trying to joke back. Brodie could see them trying to keep each other calm, take their minds off of what was about to happen. It was working even for him, though Brodie couldn't shake the feeling that he ought not to be around at all. This felt too private, to important. He was still paying attention, raising an eyebrow when Langston remarked that werewolves mated for life. I had no idea wolves did, let alone wolf people. It was a heart warming, if scary, concept. Actually no, it was definitely all completely scary. What if they had been wrong?!
Brodie decided not to worry about it for obvious reasons that all pertained to the fact that he had no reason to worry about werewolves. Were-cheetas, however...He tried for a nervous smile in Gavin's direction, and a nod. "You'll do everything right, you'll be fine." And he'd be fine too. Brodie's brow furrowed as he heard Langston's words to his brother. Was there really such a feeling? Was it like when you were about to sneeze?
As he felt Langston's eyes on him and heard the younger man's words Brodie pressed himself further against the wall, as if it would shrink him below notice. He probably looked as scared as he felt at the possibility now. Getting into the cage early sounded like crap, but if Gavin wanted to do it Brodie thought he would understand. "If you want to get in there I'll keep you company." He told Gavin eventually. It felt selfish to think that at least with a cage between them they would probably have to sit closer than without. What a stupid thing to think. If you wanted to be closer why don't you just move closer?. Easier said than done, though. Brodie just stood there against the wall, looking at Gavin like a worried puppy; all it took was for him to turn his head a little.
Langston's question brought the drummer out of his idiotic reverie and, looking away into nothingness, Brodie realized that he could eat. Or rather, his body could use some sustenance; that didn't mean he could actually eat, with how nervous he was. He looked back at Gavin for an answer instead.
