Jaladhi was starting to lose interest in her toy. Had this been in reference to anything other than a person, it would not bring cause to worry, but that was not the case. Her boredom would result in one or two outcomes: either she would turn the girl in service of Water, or she would kill her outright. When she had first take Jadyn, Jaladhi was almost certain that end would result in a new Elemental Guardian. She was certain that Water had guided her down the path that led straight to Jadyn. The woman had been chosen, hand-pitched, for a greater purpose, but Jaladhi was quickly discovering that the current that ran through the elemental was not strong enough to withstand the demands of being a guardian. She had been tested and found wanting. So it seemed, honestly, that the decision had already been made. But that didn't mean that Jaladhi couldn't have a little more fun while Jadyn was still alive.
Finding out where the little spring lived had been simple. She was not so out of touch with the times that she couldn't read a licence and navigate the city streets. Sure, it had taken much longer (without a map or a navigation device of any kind) than she would have liked. Dark had fallen and fully settled by the time she found the house. Jaladhi stood on the doorstep, looking up at the dormant house. It amused her how it looked as though it were waiting patiently for life to return to it once again -- but it never would. Many days, maybe even months, would pass before light filled the windows again. With little care for someone who might be looking on at the suspicious figure in their neighbor's yard, Jaladhi circled the house to enter it from the backdoor. She had no lock picking skills to speak of, and why should she when brute strength was as good as any tool. Going through the back was only a formality to buy her more time; people were more likely to investigate if the front looked smashed in.
Her intention had been to search Jadyn's room for something she could use to further the torment of the elemental. She had started a new collection, inspired by her time with her toy. They were a serious of portraits, some painted while Jadyn had laid unconscious in the basement while others had been figments of Jaladhi's violent imagination. She was certain that she needed to capture some true pathos and there was only one way to ensure that it was genuine. Finding Jadyn's bedroom had required her to go through several doors, which was how she found exactly what she was looking for. Her little pup had a room in her house. Jaladhi's lips curled into a twisted form of a smile.
When she finally left the house, her arms were laden with an array of belongings, including: a soft baby blue blanket, a stuffed were-tiger, and a photograph of the two together. Jaladhi was humming softly to herself in triumph when the sound of another speaking caught her ears. Considering the number of voices that plagued her thoughts, she made it a point of recognizing those that came from without. It was the same voice that had been on the other end of Jadyn's cellphone. Water has truly blessed me this night. "Far and away from you," she said as she stepped out from the shadows.
