do you know what's worth fighting for? Who: Jaladhi and Missy Where: Jadyn's house When: After dark Warning: Violence
It had been awhile since Missy had allowed herself to think about Jadyn. It was not because she had stopped worrying about her; it was because she had needed to convince herself of what she believed had to be true. Jadyn had left her, all of Scarlet Oak really, and there was nothing she could do about it. The phone number she had did not work, she had no address but the one of the house she had just parked in front of... what else could she do? Nothing. Her fingers tightened on the wheel, lips a tight line. Kristen probably knew that she was here - or had been coming - but the person that Missy hoped had no idea about it was Nikita. And why? No, she knew why, stopping herself to ask was pointless. It was because there was... something going on. They had hardly stopped to give it a name but they both knew that it was there. Hell, that bitch of a sire had gotten her scent all over her and gone out with her and... it... Missy knew she had not slept with her, but still. Still. No one made her go out with her even if it was the smart thing to do. Smart thing, right, because she's always so eager to do that.
Stop thinking about it.
Turning her phone onto vibrate - it was the full moon and not all bitten were's locked themselves up like good mongrels - Missy checked to make sure that she still had her weapons all tucked in where they belonged before she opened the door and stepped out. Her first instincts had her listening to the surroundings, but newer ones had her breathing in deeply through her nose. The world seemed to spring to life in ways that it never had when she was alive and she very nearly reveled in it before she shook her head, frowning at herself for daring to begin giving into those vampire instincts that kept cropping up. She was coming to something as close to peace as she could get with what had happened, but that did not mean she had to like it. Tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear, she started up the sidewalk. It did not hurt to check and see if Jadyn was there or anything had changed, did it? Only person I'm hurting here is probably myself and I haven't been doing enough of that lately, now have I? Her eyes darted around, taking in the familiar scene and sure enough nothing had changed. Everything was in the same place and there were no fresh scents, just old ones that had been dulled by rain. Around back.
She smelled the pond before she stopped it. Water elementals and their features. Her lips tugged into what could nearly be called a fond smile as she stepped up to it; tugging off a glove so that she could drag her fingers through the water. Once it would have been cool, but now? Now it just matched her body temperature and that... bothered her less than it should have. "Where'd you go Jadyn?" she asked her reflection as she set back on her heels, hand propped so she could rest her chin on her knuckles.
