Emilia caught a vague sort of thought about siphoning water and gave the slightest shake of her head. So far as she could tell, Doran was of a mind with their father's true opinion when it came to the world of supernaturals if his treatment of her was any indicator and the last thing that she needed was for the children to spout off to him about what Aunt Arwen had done when they were at her house. Granted she already knew and accepted that they were going to mention the talking horse... but that was a little different. He might write it off as their imagination. Or he would shout at her. Emilia was used enough to that that it would barely even phase her. "I think that's just written into our code," she said in response, smiling slightly. She would never be able to build a walkway without help, but she had not spent time over in Africa building anything either. Emilia's charity work was limited to... no, Emilia had never done charity work outside of church functions and it was likely to stay that way. She simply did not have the same sort of drive as Arwen. Or as their father would say, it was not her calling.
"Pretty horsie!" Alexander crowed, clapping his small hands when Fantine came cantering up. Rose made a delighted cry mixed with a giggle. Emilia was sure that there was supposed to be a word in there, but she was at that age where it was very hard to tell when she got excited about anything. At least Alexander was good at making himself understood and they had grown up so close in age that he usually knew what his sister was after and could tell her if she got it wrong. He reached up to pat her on the nose, careful to be gentle like he had always been told to be with animals, giggling. Rose wriggled excitedly in Arwen's arms, babbling 'horsie, horsie, horsie!' over and over again until she was moved close enough that she could do the same.
Emilia smiled, absolutely charmed by both the beauty of the animal before her and the fact that she already knew her name. "Hello, Fantine," she said politely, reaching into her pocket to pull out a small apple that she had brought over specially because she knew she was seeing a horse. Horses did like apples, every movie she had seen and book she had read about them said so. Holding it balanced flat on her palm she extended it out. "I brought you an apple in case you liked them." Her eyes flicked to Arwen, a hint there that this was just a little strange for her. She had never thought she would talk to a horse. "If not then I can give it to the kids."
