Zach honestly didn't know what he made of the idea of faeries, from the sounds of it they weren't good news and he preferred to avoid things that were bad news if he could. "I'll do my best but some people don't make it easy to be nice to them." He offered her an honest smile, he really did try and do his best to be nice to everyone he met but sometimes it was difficult. "Fairly recently, yeah." Hearing her chuckle made his smile grow slightly. "Who knows maybe you've already run into one and you just don't even know it."
He didn't miss the way she grinned when he mentioned the old book smell. It was always good to find someone who shared his enthusiasm for old books. "I hope so too or we'll be going hungry," he said with a head tilt towards the dog at his side. Zach tried to remember his manners but it wasn't always easy when he often wanted to avoid interactions with anyone else altogether. "Nice to meet you too, Maxine," he replied as he took her hand in his, his grip not too firm but just firm enough so that he wouldn't appear weak.
The next words out of the woman's mouth caught him by surprise, he tried to keep that surprise off his face but he wasn't sure he was doing a good job. "To be honest I've never considered either option." He rubbed a hand on the back of his neck as he thought about what she'd said, did he want an investor or a partner? He wasn't sure but given the cost of the work being done he might have to consider it and he'd rather have someone who shared his passion for books.
