Even though it was still morning, Drina could feel the sway of the moon pulling in her veins. It always manifested early in a way that reminded her of morning sickness. She felt a little light headed and nauseous at times, but mostly it was feeling as though she wasn't fitting right into her skin. The feeling was always odd and even though she had experienced a full every month since March, she still wasn't used to it. She wondered if she would ever really feel used to it. The whole thing was made easier by Marco's presence and also knowing that the Ballard House was safer than trying to hide out in the woods. Separating herself from civilization was the right idea but the Ballard House was the only way to ensure that civilization would stay away from her. She tugged slightly at the hems of her sleeves, the collar of her sweater sliding ever so slightly to expose an inch of her collar bone. This was only her second time in the safe house and she was sill nervous about the whole ordeal. What if the cage broke? What if she got out? You're worrying too much, she chided herself. She needed to trust that everything would be alright, but she found that the cop in her was never going to let her fully relax.
She turned and looked at Marco, her thick hair falling over her shoulder. "I was thinking about it, yeah. I didn't really get a good look at it last time I was here." Exploring and investigating the safe house was about the best way Drina could get that nagging voice in the back of her head to at least hush for a little while. Just enough to keep her nerves calm before the transformation. She closed the car door behind her and stepped towards the sidewalk when he mentioned his errand. "Oh? What kind of errand have you got planned? I can come and keep you company if you want." The words were out of her mouth before she could even stop to think about what they might mean to Marco. Just because he was one of her only friends didn't mean that she was his; she never stopped to think about how he might just want a few minutes to himself.
Drina followed him up the stairs, looking at the crowd of other weres who were waiting for available cages. The assault of scents plagued her nose and she tried to focus on distinguishing one from the other. She identified Marco's easiest, probably because it was the only one she knew. Even in her sleep she knew hat scent. Next was the overwhelming scent of wolf, followed by other animals. She thought she could even smell some bird-like animals. She found it a little surreal that there were so many different types of weres, especially in such a small town like Scarlet Oak. When they approached the girl with the clipboard, Drina was about to open her mouth in greeting when Marco said he knew the girl... on a day when she was pantsless, apparently. Drina turned to look at him, her mouth hanging open slightly while one eyebrow was quirked upwards. "I'm sorry?" She sputtered. A distinctive wave washed over her though it lasted only briefly because she refused to dwell on the feeling. It was silly, really. Why on earth should she have a single jealous thought where Marco was concerned?
