Trust: one more thing Kammie couldn’t imagine living without, but then again she had never had it broken before. It was hard for her to imagine how anyone could see her smiling face and question whether or not it was sincere. She had never faced any of the true evils that lurked in the shadows of this world. Kammie wasn’t deterred by the confused expression that crossed the other woman’s face. She wouldn’t leave until she was told to, and if that was the case, she would do so graciously. Her persistence was worthwhile it seemed, when a smile finally cracked through the blonde’s cautious facade. Kammie gave a nod at Caelia’s name before her eyes left the other woman’s face to the owl coming to a perch on Caelia’s arm. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Caelia,” she said as she extended her hand for a shake of proper greeting. “And you, Celeste.” For the bird, Kammie offered a single finger for the familiar to grasp as both an amusing and sincere miniature handshake. “I’m Kammie, and I am indeed new in town. I just moved here three days ago today, actually.”
There was really nothing to keep her from divulging information about herself. She didn’t have anything to hide, nor did she think that Caelia was any threat for her. If anything, she was hoping that the other woman would prove to be a future friend, and she believed in full honesty between friends. “I have family living in town and I’m hoping to find them.” That she didn’t go into detail about Tanith and their separation had more to do with it not being the time or the place, more than withholding information. “Have you been living here long, yourself?” Kammie smiled, then added. “I just mean in terms of the building, do you like it here?” She had picked up already in their brief time together that Caelia was a careful, perhaps guarded, person. The last thing she wanted to do was make the other woman feel uncomfortable.
“Oh!” Kammie cried out suddenly, throwing a palm to her forehead in realization. “You were leaving when I got here. I hope I’m not keeping you from something important. I can always come back if you’d like.”
