show you what all that howl is for
Who: Jason and Zelie
When: Midday
Where: Abandoned warehouse commandeered by the Bernhard pack
It was common knowledge within the pack that Zelie had been an absolute trainwreck before Weston's first full moon. She'd been so nervous that at some point someone - Zelie strongly suspected Devon himself - had eventually slipped something into her water bottle and she'd suddenly found herself giving a bit less of a fuck about, well, anything. Even then, she'd still managed to feel nervous for Weston. She'd known what that first shift was going to be like. She'd known the suffering her little sister would go through. And she'd known, seeing as she'd be securely locked in her own cage, there wouldn't be a damn thing Zelie could do about it. It had easily been the worst full moon of Zelie's life.
This wasn't going to be Weston's first full moon, but Zelie's nerves were coming back anyway. It was their first moon here, and just the change in the routine was enough to set Zelie to pacing. Eventually, Zelie had realized that she was more or less alone in the warehouse. A few of her pack-mates were still about, but she thought they were all far enough away from the room where they'd set up their cages that she could investigate without being caught. And so she slipped into the room, pacing it back and forth a few times as she just stared down Weston's cage. Eventually she approached it, rattling the bars a little bit. She waited for the sound of nearing footsteps. Nothing.
Oh, hell with it all, Zelie decided, and she threw open the door and grabbed the keys. She stepped inside Weston's cage, and let her hands reach through the bars to carefully lock herself in. Then she crouched down and set the key on the floor within arm's length. Then came the removal of clothes and at last, the painful shift to her hybrid form. Becoming a wolf was easier these days, a lot more natural. Becoming the monster still pained her, but she wouldn't feel truly okay until she was absolutely sure. When she was the monster, she threw herself against the bars, fighting at every angle to try and find a weak point.
She knew she wouldn't find one. But she couldn't rest without trying.
