It was rare for Farren to emote beyond a deep scowl or a weak smirk, but watching as the raven swooped down to antagonize the world’s most indecisive customer, her lips parted into a full blown smile. Of course, the smile was short lived; she wasted no time before she ripped it apart with a derisive bark of laughter. She threw her head back and let it rumble out of her. “Cruel” was a word used to describe her people who knew Farren by her reputation alone; her very snarky, hard exterior was all she cared to show people, even the ones she had gushy feelings for like her siblings. It was the sort of trait that made it rather difficult for her to make friends who were outside of the pack (sometimes even within the pack). There were a few coworkers who knew her well enough that she seemed less abrasive in general, but the only time Farren was the least little bit cuddly was when she was sleeping.
“Nice to meet you,” and for once, it wasn’t an empty pleasantry. While she didn’t know Castel and he generally looked like a wealthy sort of pretty boy -- the sort that usually caused her to roll her eyes and huff out a sigh -- he seemed like an alright sort of person. At the very least, he seemed to have no qualms in getting his familiar to terrorize a complete stranger and that definitely added a few bonus points in her book. “You want anything? I don’t do much, but I make a mean latte.” She gestured with her hand, using her thumb to point over her shoulder.
“What about you?” Her gaze shifted to the bird. “I can bring you a muffin or something.” She brushed a stray crumb off of the front of her apron and straightened her name tag. Technically, freebies weren’t exactly allowed, but she’d throw the money in the register herself if she had to. She also, probably needed to get back on the floor and behind the counter, but work wasn’t a priority. Really, the only reason she held down this job was so she had spending money and could help out with the food consumption at home. If she were to end up losing her job, she couldn’t say that she would be totally heart broken.
