“A capy-what?” Glenda asked, her eyebrows knitted together in almost a perfect bow. “You know what, nevermind. You’re a talking rodent. You look like a hamster on steroids.” And, of course, the thing had a voice as disgustingly adorable as it looked. She watched the way that Belinda and Mayara interacted with one another and she found her stomach turning. “Seriously, I need you two to stop this little psychic thing or I’m going to barf all over the floor.” When Belinda hoisted her up and shoved the thing into Glenda’s face, she scowled heavily and jumped back. “No thanks, sis. I don’t want to catch the cute-rabies.” Then, looking down at the capybara, she muttered. “No offense. You’re alright since you made Mom flip, but I don’t do the cuddly thing. You can do that with Bee and Bee alone.”
Their mother was sure to lose her mind over the familiar living in the house with them; that is, if Belinda was even here to stay. Knowing her sister, it was only a matter of time before she found someone else to hang with or mooch off of. Hell, she’d probably even find another Save-The-World group that’d take her across the world in a couple of weeks. On that train of thought, Glenda regarded her sister carefully before she took a step back, under the pretense of checking up on her spiders. She shrugged at Belinda’s question and reached into her terrarium to let Morticia crawl onto the palm of her hand.
“Apparently my neighbors and landlord aren’t too keen on people in bands. Or people trying out magic.” She didn’t say why they weren’t keen on the magic bit. It’d take a whole hell of a lot for her to admit that she wasn’t any good at it in front of her sister. For now, she figured it would be just enough for Belinda to know she was trying anything new. “I’m only staying until I can afford a new place.” Which might take longer than a few weeks. “What about you?” She finally asked, turning to look at her sister. The tarantula moved from her palm and easily climbed up her arm and was resting on her shoulder. “Are you just visiting for a couple of days?”
