Julian had nothing to say to that. He wasn't the feels person of the pack. Wasn't much for hand-holding or ass-kissing. As evidenced by his current situation. But that didn't mean he was completely unfeeling. And, honestly, he could only begin to guess at the terror a first-time transformation could be for an adult. He had the benefit of not remembering that first time. Not to mention that she had to also endure the trauma of being bitten in the first place. And, from the smell of her, he could tell that she was a mountain lion. That must have been horrible. He decided not to say anything. He could only make this moment worse.
Julian had never thought of himself as cynical. In fact, he'd never really thought of himself in terms of other than being simply how he was. At Lux's suggestion that the department expand their hiring pool to definitely include supernaturals, he supposed the idea had validity. But, almost immediately after that, he thought up of seventy reasons that it would never work. First off, it simply seemed to be an issue of who would want to volunteer and if they were even good and what the department's regulations on that sort of specific hiring would be. Not to mention how a lot of their testimony might (or might not) hold up in court. Okay, so maybe Julian was a bit of a cynic. "I'd recommend that to the HR department. Idea might have some merit."
