Lux noticed the idea had struck a chord, but merely chuckled humorlessly. "And there you have the basic steps on how to twist a word to your interests. What I meant is that you're supposed to let them ride through the panic, not engage. I can't blame you for not wanting to get punched out in the process, though, obviously." Taking her mug to her lips, Lux eyed the man to see a very odd reflexion of herself. It was by no means a pleasant sight, nor one she had been prepared for. Troy said she sometimes got that glazed look on her eyes too, the hand fidgeting, the whole thing. "I know that look. I apologize for bringing it out of you." She meant it, too. Lux lowered her head and attempted to focus on her work, but yet again the young lieutenant gave her pause. She raised her head then without looking at him. "I really hope so too." There had been to much death around lately; Lux's aching for the field still made no part of her ache for actual new murders. Just active investigation of current ones.
Noticing the strain on Julian's grin, Lux only smiled slightly, an apologetic look on her face. Despite that what he said next made her snicker. "Oh I bet you do that with all the cops..." She joked. "Now come on, if you need my help let me know, God knows I've canvassed that area more than once." She eyed the papers on her desk. "And God knows most people on this 20 year-old murder are probably past caring."
