As the young firefighter set the box down Lux sneaked another donut. Her appetite had been fierce lately, what with the being an animal and a ton of scary shit happening around her in rapid succession. She closed her eyes to savor the taste, noticing after that Julian seemed as bitter as when he'd gotten here. "Chill, man, you have to do this anyway." She advised, shrugging.
Her eyes widened more and more as he told her the story of how he'd gotten this crappy task, and suddenly Lux really understood his boss's motivations. "We're peacekeepers, we're not supposed to give as good as we get." She rolled her eyes at how much bullshit that was sometimes, but in her years Lux had come to understand it. "Well then you know what to do not to land this fantastic job next time, dont'cha? Don't punch a civilian. I myself like to threaten them with a taser once in a while instead." She explained between donut bites.
"I'm homicide." She replied. "Until someone's found dead at the scene I'm stuck with cold cases over here." There was bitterness in the last of her words as well. There were plenty of recent murders to investigate, and yet here she was, on cold cases because, despite what he told her, the chief did not trust her in the field just yet. Fucking chief. Fucking PTSD. "So we're going to be really good pals, Davis."
