“Nuh uh. They’re pretty boring. And annoying. And that one’s name’s Rachel.” Not entirely true. She was sure Hayden was going a bit mad -- hopefully in a Norman Bates sort of way. That’d be so cool. Maybe he’d totally remake the movie… with Paul and Rachel Fells. While Briony watched from her own corner of wherever. If he killed their parents, did she still have to go to school? Thoughts of her brother and school aside, she couldn’t help but feel a vague stab of jealousy that this woman knew her mom’s name when she didn’t know her own. Really, Briony had no use for real parents, but it was the nine year old’s annoyance of another demon having something she did not. But she shoved it aside for later, because she could feel the menthol-tingle that came with her own power effecting someone else. She noticed it more in demons -- even in her it felt not quite right.
Tilting her own head to mirror the other woman, she smiled. “You gotta pretend I’m still crying and stuff though. Can’t be bothered starting up again.” She did, however widen her eyes just enough to be considered adorable by human standards, and without thinking twice about it -- which was probably stupid -- slid her hand into the other grown-up version… and held on tight for just a second. “But that’s all I’m showing you,” she stated. “M’not an idiot. You’d squish me.” Her eyes strobed almost defensively until she blinked again.
